Chapter Nineteen: The Detective Boys' Survival Case!

[A Few Weeks Later]

Yuki whimpers as she wakes up from a kiss on her shoulder. She rolls over and buries her face into the chest of the man she was cuddling against. She peeks up at him and he brushes some of her white hair out of her face before he leans over and kisses her. She giggles and kisses him back. Once he breaks the kiss, he looks at her. Yuki was currently in one of the hotel rooms that Shuichi had been staying in lately. He caresses her face gently. Shuichi missed being at home with Yuki and it wasn't really much of a secret from Ryo that she'd send him to have a sleepover with Conan while Yuki went to meet with Shuichi. Yuki wraps her arm around him and buries her face into his neck, hugging him tightly.

"Hmm. Shu, I miss being able to be at home with you." Yuki tells him.

"I know, I miss you too." Shuichi tells her. She leans back and looks at him.

"We haven't heard a thing from them since Shinichi had a run in with them." Yuki explains.

"Yes, I know, but I've noticed people break in while you and Ryo aren't home. They aren't just searching for information on your brother, I can't run the risk of them also searching for our connection." Shuichi explains. Yuki looks away and sighs as she lays on her back, the sheet barely covering her body.

"That's what sucks." Yuki mutters and Shuichi gently leans over, kissing her.

"Don't worry, hopefully, it'll all be better soon." Shuichi promises.

[Meanwhile]

Dr. Agasa receives a phone call and after he hangs up he goes searching for the old map that he was given by Yusaku Kudo.

The following day, Yuki rolls her eyes at the map. She remembers doing the treasure hunt when she was a little girl. Yusaku refused to help her, and Yukiko complained that Yuki was too young. Ryo was excited to look for buried treasure with everyone else. When they get to the camping spot, Yuki sighs as she sits back and watches the kids leave.

"Conan! Look after Ryo!" Yuki yells and Conan nods.

"Okay!" Conan calls out. After the kids are out of hearing range, Yuki glances over at Dr. Agasa.

"Really? The old treasure map again?" Yuki asks.

"Your father thinks it'd be fun for Ryo to do it. Shinichi has never done it either, right?" Dr. Agasa asks.

"Nope, he hasn't. I told Dad never to get that stupid thing out. I had to do it all by myself." Yuki responds, "But I was about thirteen when I did it."

"But you understood the treasure, correct?" Dr. Agasa says and Yuki smiles.

"Yeah, I did." Yuki responds with a small smile.

"Hey Yuki, are you alright? You seem lonely or something?" Dr. Agasa asks.

"I miss my husband." Yuki responds as she sighs.

"Why didn't you just ask him not to take the undercover assignment?" Dr. Agasa asks. Yuki thinks back on it.

"I told him to do it. I didn't want to stand in his way." Yuki explains.

"But he's been on the run for two years, right? If he's in any danger, he could be killed. You might not ever see him again." Dr. Agasa points out and Yuki looks down.

"And that's what worries me the most. Shuichi is out there facing this on his own. But he promised me that he will not die. He's going to come home to me and Ryo." Yuki explains, "Plus, I would feel if Shuichi gets killed. Our love is powerful. He knows when something is up with me and I know when something is wrong with him. The day he got revealed and had to go on the run... I felt something would happen. Shuichi told me later that someone found out that he was FBI and had to go on the run."
