Chapter Ninety-Two: The Scarlet Prologue!

[Three Weeks Later]

Jodie calls an old friend who works at Haido Elementary School while Camel sits across from her. The two talk about going drinking and after Jodie hangs up, Camel blinks at her.

"Was that your friend?" Camel asks.

"Yes, she got involved in a case in America while she was studying abroad and then I saved her. We've known each other ever since." Jodie explains.

"Really?" Camel asks.

"Yep, it was her and Yuki's combined effort that I learned Japanese." Jodie adds.

"I see, how is Yuki anyway?" Camel asks.

"I heard she's feeling better. Conan said that she's discovered Bourbon's identity, but she won't give it up. She says it's part of her war. The Organization won't dare make a move on her. She told them that the moment she dies, the truth of everyone's identities in the Organization will be leaked to all law enforcement, even us." Jodie explains.

[The Next Day - Teitan Elementary School]

"Hey, Conan! Let's go play soccer after— Wait where did he go?" Genta asks.

"He took off running." Ai comments, "Ryo too."

"There they are!" Ayumi exclaims.

"Someone is picking him and Ryo up?" Mitsuhiko asks.

"It's Jodie!" Ayumi exclaims.

[Meanwhile]

"Kusuda Rikumichi? Oh. The organization spy who infiltrated Mizunashi Rena's hospital. He ran when his cover was blown. He threatened Yuki's life and once Shuichi cornered him, he shot himself in the head. Right?" Jodie asks.

"Yeah." Ryo replies.

"What about him?" Jodie asks.

"Tell the FBI to keep it a secret. The organization's man, Bourbon, Amuro Tooru, is also conducting his own investigation." Conan begins.

"Of course! Did you make me pick you up just to tell me that? Also... Is it okay to discuss this in front of Ryo? Why are you even here anyway? Shouldn't you go home?" Jodie asks.

"Mommy said it's okay that I spend some time with you, Auntie Jodie." Ryo replies with a grin.

"Awe! You are so adorable!" Jodie squeals as she drives.

"Cell phones are easily tapped. Besides, there's something else. Maybe... Maybe Amuro is..." Conan states. Ryo looks at him. Jodie's phone ringing brings him out of his thoughts.

"Ah, sorry. I'm going to pull over so I can answer this." Jodie states before pulling over, "Eh? Natsuko's gravely injured? She fell down the stairs at Haido Park? Which hospital? I'll head right there!"

"Actually, we'd like you to come to the crime scene." Takagi explains.

"Eh? The crime scene?" Jodie asks.

"Yes. We're at the scene where she fell. The history on her phone we found in the park showed she spoke with you before eight last night." Takagi states.

"That's right. I called her then. Wait. Did she not fall by accident?" Jodie asks.

"No. According to the person who reported it from a nearby public phone, someone pushed her." Takagi confirms, "Hello? Jodie?"

"A-Anyway, I'll be right there!" Jodie exclaims, "I'll meet you at the stairs at Haido Park!" Jodie, Ryo and Conan head over. They arrive and Jodie parks and climbs out of the car with the two kids.
