Angurirus is a four-legged dinosaur-like creature that looks similar to an ankylosaurus. He has several horns at the top of his head and a single horn above his nose like a rhinoceros. His face is long and drawn out, like a crocodile, and has rows of jagged, serrated teeth. His carapace is studded with long, sharp spikes. Angurirus tail is longer than his body and makes up most of his body length, and is also covered with spikes. His hind limbs are longer than his forelimbs, enabling him to stand up on them to his full height, but he generally walks on all fours.

In the next film, Angurirus was able to burrow underground, eventually making his way to the Japanese mainland where he emerged and attacked fake Godzilla), camouflage, poison manipulation, status effect inducement (In several publications, Angurirus was described to be able to create poisonous liquid within its body and emit from its back spikes and claws to stun targets), resistance to radiation manipulation and heat manipulation (Angurirus was unfazed by Godzilla's vapor breath)

•Stunning Poison: This ability was described in some official publications; Angurirus can create and emit a poisonous liquid that can stun targets from its spikes and claws.
•Caparace: Perhaps his most notable and recognized feature, Angurirus has numerous, sharp spikes all over his shell-like caparace. This caparace can protect Angurirus from enemy attacks and inflict damage if Angurirus slams its back into an opponent.
