Something's keeping her up.

Or 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦.

She lays in bed, staring at the paper Nick had given her.

It has a number on it, along with his cabin number.

Cabin 12.

Ziggy had just fallen asleep in the bunk above her.

And she's a heavy sleeper.

So Nora could sneak out no problem.

She needs to see him.

She sighs. What is she thinking?

Nora knocks on Nick's cabin door.

Is she really doing this?

The door opens and Nick comes into view.

"I need to talk to you." Nora says.

He sighs softly, running a hand through his hair.

He then gestures for her to come in.

She hesitates for a moment before walking in.

He shuts the door behind her and she turns to him.

"Why do you care? Why did you do what you did today?"

She needs to know. She needs answers.

He stays silent.

She continues.

"You don't even 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 me..." She whispers.

"I know enough about you.." He responds, stepping forward.

He holds her chin, caressing the top of it with his thumb.

"What do you know..?" She asks, looking up at him.

"I know about your parents. I know about your mom. I'm a counselor, why wouldnt I know these things?"

"You looked through my file, didn't you?"

He stays silent.

Camper files are kept in the Counselors lounge. It would be normal for counselors to look through them when they needed to.

But why would Nick go through hers?

"𝘐 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘺..." He says.

"I needed answers. I needed to know 𝘸𝘩𝘺 I feel like I need to protect you. 𝘞𝘩𝘺 I feel like I need to keep you safe."

He caresses her chin.

"I've never felt this way about anyone. And I know we barley know eachother... But.."

He struggles with his words.

"I care."

"𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶..?"

He sighs. "I do, Nora. This is real."

And at that moment, it's just them.

He's the only person she cares about.

He leans in.

She hesitates, pulling away slightly.

He pauses.

"What do you wan't?" He asks.

Nora stays quiet for a few seconds before answering.

"𝘠𝘰𝘶."

He presses his lips to hers, his hands go to her cheeks.

Her hands hold his wrists.

They pull away. Nick presses his forehead against hers.

Nora and Nick lie awake, facing eachother.

They're both lying on their sides.

Nora realizes that she can't stay here. What if Ziggy wakes up in the morning and finds her missing?

Nick notices the sudden frown on Nora's face.

"What is it..?" He asks.

"I can't stay here."

She starts to sit up in the bed when she feels Nick's fingers wrap around her wrist.

She looks down at him.

"Stay..." He whispers.

She lays back down on her side, her back facing him.

A few minutes go by and Nora's almost asleep.

She feels Nick's arm wrap around her waist.

She doesn't fight it.

She feels his hot breath on the back of her neck.

She can feel his chest rise and fall against her.

For some reason, this felt 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵.

She feels like she belongs with him.

She feels like she's safe, and protected.
