"𝐃𝐚𝐝! 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩!" 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐝.

He throws his beer bottle at her.

She shields her head and screams.

The bottle shatters on the counter behind her. Some glass shards cut her skin.

"Get out of my sight!" He yells at her, getting in her face.

As much as she doesn't want to, she obeys him.

She wants to fight back.

She runs up the stairs and to her room. She's not going to call Ellie. She's not going to call Ziggy.

Nora looks at herself in the mirror. She grabs a tissue from her nightstand.

She wipes the blood from the cut on her neck.

She finishes and begins to sob.

She doesn't want to do this anymore. She doesn't want to keep hiding.

She's tired of having to use makeup every day to cover her marks before school.

She can't hide forever. The situation is just going to get worse.

Soon enough, she won't even be able to lock herself in her room.

Later, Nora lays in her bed, crying.

Maybe things 𝘸𝘰𝘯'𝘵 get better.

Maybe she's stuck here 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳.

As Nora drifts off to sleep, she keeps thinking about how she's like that beer bottle.

It shattered 𝘴𝘰 easily.

Just like her.

She's fragile like that glass.

And she always will be.
