"Kivilcim, we're having another baby?" Omer asked
"Yesss!" Kivilcim smiled as they walked out of the room.
Omer gently brushed a tear from Kivilcim's cheek, his curiosity piqued. "When did you find out? I'm curious."
Kivilcim took a deep breath, her voice steadying. "Recently... Today, actually. I was going to tell you everything. I felt a little dizzy during my session and then... I fainted, right in the middle of it."
Omer's eyes widened with concern. "You fainted?"
She nodded, managing a small smile. "They quickly ran some tests, and that's when I found out."
"Why didn't you stop the session? You should have rested. You should have told me.," Omer said, his voice laced with worry.
Kivilcim sighed, her hand now holding his. "I thought about it, but I wanted to finish the meeting. I didn't think it was a big deal. Being pregnant was the last thing I thought of...We got so many disappointing results that I stopped checking. I thought maybe it was because my blood pressure was low, I don't know." She said shrugging. "I am still shocked."
Before they could say more, the police arrived and took their statements. Kayhan, still unconscious, was taken into custody, his threat finally neutralized. No need for them to ever worry again. No need to be on the look out.
With the ordeal behind them, Kivilcim and Omer returned home to their children.Esma gathered her things, ready to leave. She approached Kivilcim and Omer, a warm smile on her face despite the tension that had filled the day.
"Kivilcim, Omer," Esma began, her voice gentle. "Thank god you're both okay. I prayed for you both. You two need to rest. I'll check on the kids in the morning."
Kivilcim smiled appreciatively. "Thank you, Esma. For everything."
Esma waved her hand dismissively, but her eyes were kind. "No need to thank me. Just take care of yourselves."
Omer nodded. "We will, Mom. The driver will take you and dad home. We love you. Good night."
Esma leaned in, kissing Kivilcim on the cheek and giving Omer a quick hug. "Good night," she said before turning and heading out the door.
After she left, the house grew quiet. Omer turned to Kivilcim, the weight of the day finally settling in.
Omer sighed softly, glancing at Kivilcim with a look of gentle concern. "We should both rest. Today was tough," he said. She nodded and they both went upstairs hand in hand. As they walked upstairs hand in hand and stopped in front of their bedroom, he leaned in to kiss her cheeks softly and hugged her tightly. "Good night, my love."
Kivilcim looked at him, puzzled. "are you going?"
Omer hesitated, then said, "I don't know, I thought we might sleep apart tonight..."
Before he could finish, Kivilcim took his hand more firmly, her voice earnest. "Omer, I want you to stay with me tonight and hold me close for the rest of our lives."
His eyes softened as he nodded, kivilcim leading him into their room. They both changed into their sleepwear and climbed into bed together. Kivilcim snuggled close, her head resting on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. Omer wrapped his arms around her, holding her close
He then gently placed his hand on her belly, his touch filled with love. "Uffff." He let out a breath. "We've been through so much, Kivilcim," he murmured, his eyes searching hers. "When the van drove off with you and I saw your face, I had the same fear from last time. I was so scared that something would happen to you again. That I couldn't protect you. If something happened to you, I couldn't live. I'm so glad you're okay. Our baby is okay. I love you more than anything."
