Chapter 40

"Ja..Jaan" Abhimaan whispered, he was seeing her after a long time he didn't know how to react, if they were in any other situation he would have hugged her tightly and say how much he missed her but today for some reason there was some awkwardness between them

"Can I come inside" he asked, Anu nodded giving him room to enter inside the house.

Abhimaan sat on couch and started to look around Anu went inside the kitchen to bring water, when Abhimaan saw the water glass he took it and dark, there was an awkward silence in the room but no one tried to talk with each other, abhimaan looked around to find his daughter he was dying to see her, Anu observed him and spoke

"Adhira is sleeping"

"At this time" he asked it was evening and he know his daughter won't sleep at this time

"She was tried from playing" Anu spoke, though even she know it was a big lie, but she doesn't want to tell him about that Adhira was missing him and didn't slept whole night asking for her father.

"C..Can we talk" Anu looked at him, she doesn't know what should she say, he is right they need to talk but she was not ready for the talk yet, she want time to prepare herself for the worest

"I need time" she muttered getting up

"How much time, wasn't a week was enough for you" Abhimaan asked

"I don't know but I need time" Anu muttered walking away

"Are you trying to run away from the problem" he asked making her sigh "Jann I don't know what is going on in your head but bacha we need to talk, problem won't solve itself, I understand what is stopping you from you to have a talk with me but you realise right, the more time you talk more jumbled your thoughts become" he asked, Anu looked away not knowing what to say

"You can ask me anything Jaan, I will answer truthfully, I promise" Abhimaan whispered.

"You know he was mudderd" Abhimaan understood it was not a question rather she stated it.

"Of what" Anu questioned, Abhimaan sighed before replying

"I was afraid that our relation might get effected by this, this is not a small thing Anu I didn't killed him but he died because of me" Anu looked at him stunned, what does he mean by because of him

"What do you mean"

"3 months back I got a call from an unknown number, that person said Shivam sachdev died because of me , I don't know who was it I tried to know who is the person but I failed "

"Someone told you and you believed it, have you lost it Abhimaan kanna, how can you believe a random person just like that" Anu hissed

"No No, I didn't  believed it but when we started Investigating we got to know that last call from shivam's phone was made to me, I am sure I never met him but I don't know how come his last call was me"

" last call ?" Anu asked not believing what he Just said, how could that be possible " are you sure about it Maan?"

"I am, I don't know how come he called me or how he is connected to me, and I thought you will never believe me even if I say I don't know him, I was afraid to loose you and Adhira"

" You sure you never met him?" Anu asked, Abhimaan shook his head

Their conversation took pause, there was silence which is unbearable specially for Abhiamaan, he felt air in the room suffocating him, he look anu Anu who was looking lost in her thoughts
