He was given a mission now he must finish it.

Julian hid under the cloak of the forest, behind leaves and twigs, and traveled with the changing shadows. He was unnoticeable. He cannot be observed, not even by the sixth sense, and yet... she would turn her head and look directly at him from time to time as if she knew that he was there.

It was rare that a target would be able to know where he was but she didn't even do anything about it. She knew but she kept passive. Perhaps she is waiting for him to make the first move. Perhaps she doesn't really see him.

Julian believes that there is something different about this girl. It's not simply because there's a graceful ease as she trudges through the tricky forest path. Not even how she casually exchanged secrets with the spirits of the forest. Not even when she bathes with the river nymphs and the water cascades elegantly along her porcelain-like skin.

She was what one would call... Beautiful. Pure. Ethereal.

To him, she reassembled an angel that walks on the earth. He once saw such a creature, being a servant of the Monastery of Light, he had once been given the privilege of seeing an angel in person. Her name was Rafaela. She, too, was beautiful. She exudes heavenly light that is not of this world. This girl reminds him of the angel. Perhaps that is why the Monastery wants her.

He was told that she was pure. A virgin whose features seem to have been crafted by the lord of light himself. The temple wanted him to observe her actions and to ensure that she remained pure until they decided to use her as a vessel to create more angels. But unlike Rafaela whose mother was impregnated without consent by drinking Holy Water, this girl would be used as a vessel to summon an actual angel. Her uncorrupted body would house one of the most powerful beings in existence to fight off the hideous demons of the Abyss. She would have the greatest honor of becoming an angel.

Rafaela's birth was a success, but her powers proved to be insufficient to deal relevant damage to the Abyss, so the Empire sought more power from the angels. They would summon a True Angel capable of using God's destructive powers to destroy the Abyss once and for all.

It's been a week since he was given this assignment. He found it tame compared to his previous experience but it seems to be the most sinister one by far.

He watched her round a corner, and he followed close by, but when he made his turn, a massive blade was pressed against his nape. His angel, he meant the angel, was standing in front of him holding him hostage to her scythe and her beauty.

"Why have you been following me? The spirits have seen you constantly going in and about the forest and disturbing them and following me. Who sent you?"

He kept silent giving her no reply. His hand slowly made its way to his blade but the maiden was sharp and kicked his weapon away. What else could he expect from the huntress of the dark forest? Her blade dug deeper against his neck, threatening to decapitate him with one wrong move.

"I will not ask again, who are you and what are you after?"

"The... Monastery sent... Me. My name is... Julian." he spoke, his voice breaking.

"You have a speech impediment. A perfect tool for the monastery. An assassin that cannot talk properly. Don't worry. I will send them my regards. Does the monastery like severed heads?" she said playfully. So as cute as she might appear she is a force to be reckoned with.

"Wait..."

"Decided to talk?"

Julian told her everything to the best of his abilities. He doesn't usually tattle on his target, nor has he ever complied with a threat, but this girl... She is so alluring that he can't help but tell her everything.
