"Do you have everything? Passport? Violin? Money? Extra brief?" Ruby asked, pestering Granger with her unlimited questions. The violinist only released a soft chuckle in amusement and patted her head.

"Don't worry, princess. I've prepared everything beforehand so no need to worry your pretty little head about anything." He reassured encasing her in his arm and kissing her cheek.

Granger was going to France to participate in an international violin competition and hopefully bring the gold back to her. He will be gone for three weeks or probably more. They also can't communicate often because of the number of events that he had on schedule which made Ruby feel quite lonely even before he left. Granger appeased for his upcoming long absence with dates, gifts, and sex which usually lasted until the sun rose.

"Okay, fine but always be careful. I don't want anything happening to my precious Granger." she beamed at him, poking his nose.

"Of course. I'll be very careful. Now, the flights about to go off so I need to get going. Give me my good luck kiss before the plane leaves me." Granger made a kissy face which Ruby jokingly slapped with the palm of her hand before grabbing his collar and pulling him down to her height for a passionate kiss. Granger had a shocked expression at first due to her uncharacteristic forwardness but soon returned her kiss as he melted to her touch.

A week had gone by since Granger left and it was a typical night for the Logan residence. It was dinner time already and their small family is collaborating for tonight's dishes. Alice was in the kitchen preparing the chicken while Ruby busied herself with making the stew. Dyrroth was cutting the beef for Ruby's stew and Roger was stirring the sauce for the chicken while watching an intense football match. The four working together is the image of a perfect family even if they're not all related.

"I'm finished with the sauce, I'll just grab a beer from the store and be quick about it. Wouldn't want to miss our very special family dinner." Roger informed as he wiped his hands with a towel.

Alice had a disapproving look on her face but she didn't bother to reprimand him because he'll do what he wants anyway. "I'm coming with you. I also want something. I'll just change to something more appropriate."

"Aye aye, madam." Roger said taking the car key from the hook.

"Want anything, children?" He asked, turning to the two teens who were both busy with their task.

Ruby looked up from her stew and gave her father a smile. "I want Oreos, KitKats, and Pockey! Thanks, dad!"

Roger scratched the back of his head. "Geez, how did I end up with a monster of a daughter. You're certainly Altria's kid. You Pendragons sure are voracious." Ruby glared at him.

"I'll tell that to mom." she mouthed threateningly.

"What about you, Dyrroth?"

"Condoms." answered the male as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Roger was shocked by his request but only shrugged thinking let the boys play, with whom however he will not be pleased.

"Sure. Boys got to be boys." He said before walking out the door to start the car. Alice soon came down donning a thick coat to match the weather and followed after Roger in the car.

Ruby and Dyrroth were left alone to finish the rest of the preparations and the two talked amicably since they had become closer in the expanse of the week since Dyrroth started coming out more from his room and spending quality time with her to relieve themselves of boredom when their devices are not enough company. He also stopped being a total asshole and started being a sweet person towards her to the point that he even takes her out to cafes and amusement parks. They were oftentimes mistaken for lovers which made Ruby quite uncomfortable but she didn't allow it to get much into her head so that she can finally enjoy bonding with a sibling she never had.
