"Girl I feel like he's an asshole no matter how attractive he is!" Mary exclaims as her face almost covers my entire laptop screen.

Me and Mary have been talking for the past thirty minutes and it's been going great.
She talked about how stressful her school is and the worst thing is that she can't see any pretty white boys.

I nod in agreement to what she's saying "for a moment I thought we had a connection"

"Ofcourse you guys did! Kobi he reads books" she exclaims as she lays on her stomach on her bed.

" Books! " She emphasize's to make me get her point.
I chuckle as I also lay on my stomach.

"I just think he has his issues and I don't think I'm suppose to be in the picture"

" But I think you should definitely hang out with Ethan, he seems nice" she shrugs.

Mary grins mischievously. "Besides River's got issues, but Ethan's got charm."

I blush, thinking of Ethan's warm smile. "You think so, huh?"

Mary nods enthusiastically, her face still inches from the screen. "Totally! Ethan's into you, Kobi. And he's not as complex as River."

I sigh, weighing my options. "But River...there's just something about him."

Mary rolls her eyes dramatically. "Girl, that 'something' is called trouble."

We burst into laughter, our giggles echoing through our laptops.

As we settle down, Mary's expression turns serious. "Kobi, listen. River may have his appeal, but Ethan's genuine. Don't dismiss him."

I nod thoughtfully, considering Mary's words.

"You're right," I admit. "Ethan's been really kind to me"
Mary beams. "See? I told you! Now, go hang out with Ethan and forget River's drama."

We chat for a few more minutes, discussing everything from school to our favorite TV shows.

As we wrap up our call Mary's cat, jumps onto her bed, pawing at her hair
I glance at my clock, realizing we've talked for over an hour.
The sunlight outside my window begins to fade, casting a warm orange glow

"Thanks for the advice, Mary," I say, smiling.

Mary winks. "Anytime, girl. Now go get 'em!"
We blow each other kisses, and the call ends.

My phone buzzes.

Ethan:
I saw this amazing restaurant and I thought of our date.
Are you still up for it?

Me:
Ofcourse.
What time?

He replies immediately.

Ethan:
Will six be okay?

Me:
Perfect.

Ethan:
I'll come pick you up.

Me:
Okay!

I look at the time, 5:01pm.

I immediately take a shower before slipping into my dinner gown, its silky fabric hugging my curves in all the right places. The simple yet sophisticated design showcases my figure. The fitted bodice accentuates my toned waist, while the flowing skirt falls just above my knees, highlighting my legs. The subtle sweetheart neckline frames my face.

The gown's soft, champagne color complements my light skin, giving me a warm glow. I feel confident and beautiful.

I let my braids cascade down to my waist, the soft clicks of the beads at the ends echoing as I move. My hair frames my face, emphasizing my features.
