"Jennie, there's actually a jacuzzi in here. Want to relax for a bit?"
"Oy, Irene —" Jeremy instinctively shut his mouth when Irene cast him a death glare.
"Tsk. I surrendered if that isn't clear to you two." Irene clicked her tongue before she smiled at Lisa. "Lisa, I'm borrowing your wife for the day. You should let me, because I can't believe you let those guys bet on our friendly battle."
"But she wants to do it..."
"Shh!" Irene snapped her tongue even louder now, wrapping her arms around Jennie's arm. "No excuses, Mr. Manoban. You guys have fun with your silly arguments and leave us, girls, alone, alright?"
She then faced Jennie with a wide smile. "Let's go?"
Jennie pursed her lips to suppress her chuckles, casting Lisa a look. "Honey, I'll just stay with Irene for now, alright? I'll see you later."
"Oh, come on. Don't mind him." Irene rolled her eyes before dragging Jennie with her, leaving the guys without looking back.
Meanwhile, Jennie looked back and waved at Lisa, and Lisa simply waved back, speechless.
"The hell did I miss?" Lucas gasped, cocking his head to the side. "They only went for two rounds, but now, they're like best friends."
"As long as she likes it, I don't mind." Lisa shrugged before facing Jeremy and William. "My wife is amazing. She even made Irene surrender to her."
The corner of his mouth turned up into a cunning smirk. "I will expect the transfer of property first thing in the morning. Don't worry, all you need is to sign the papers and my team will handle the rest."
"..."
"Hehehe." Lucas pulled down his under-eye with his index, sticking his tongue out. "Losers."
"..."
"Bro, want to try the field round together?" Lucas perked up at Lisa, and the latter nodded. "Sweet! Let's go! These guys aren't fun, anyway!"
With that being said, the Manoban brothers walked away to try the field shooting since Jennie went with Irene. It was too early to go home and thus, playing for a bit wouldn't hurt them.
"See? I told you. Betting like this isn't a nice thing." Jackson Wang chuckled, grinning from ear to ear. "Don't worry, though. I will ask someone to pick up the wine from your house."
Jackson shook his head mildly, turning his head in the Manoban brother's direction. He didn't say anything further, pleased that he somehow predicted this would happen, knowing how Irene disliked being used by other people. Thus, Jackson Wang followed the Manoban brothers to play with them.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Li and William Chen couldn't help their jaws from dropping.
Just now... they lost quite a fortune.
"Fuck..." Jeremy clicked his tongue in irritation. "I shouldn't have believed that goddamn woman!"
He stomped his feet, following Jackson Wang. "Hey, guys! I was just joking, alright?!"
As Jeremy Li followed his friends to convince them of such a petty lie, William Chen couldn't help but sigh.
"I should've known," he murmured, twisting his neck in a different direction from where Jennie and Irene went to. "Why do I keep messing things up with her?"
William Chen let out another deep exhale, hanging his head low while dragging his feet to follow his friends. Unlike Jeremy Li, who was shameless enough to take back his words, all the man thought was whether Irene was truly disappointed in him or if she was going to talk to him again.
As everyone left the area one after another, Tiger and Bear approached the shooting range. Both stood where the guys originally stood, staring at William's back as the man followed his friends with a heavy heart.
"That's an unexpected turn," said Tiger, rocking his head with his lips pressed tightly that made him appear he was frowning forcibly.
"It is, indeed, unexpected." Bear kept his eyes on William Chen but then snapped his eyes over the guy to Jackson Wang's figure.
Jackson Wang already reached Lisa and Lucas.
'Jackson Wang, huh?' Bear repeated the man's name. 'I hope I won't dig anything bad about you since you seem like a nice guy.'
Even after everything that unfolded, Bear never forgot that man's name that came out of Jennie's lips. If she set her eyes on something or someone, that only meant she needed her men's undivided focus on the matter.
As Bear was thinking about what to do regarding this matter, Tiger arched a brow. The latter slowly turned his head back, eyes falling on the target papers Irene left on the shooting range. Without saying a word, Tiger walked back to where Irene and Jennie had stood previously.
'I'm not tripping,' he told himself, knowing that Jennie should've hit her targets. 'I've been in this business for many years, so I know if it's a miss even before one pulls the trigger.'
Tiger stood in front of the surface, picking up the paper targets before him. He could forget about this curiosity and delude himself that he was simply been sleepy earlier. However, when Jennie used her nondominant hand and shot fired with just one hand, the gears in his head tingled.
'Unless her nondominant hand is actually her dominant hand, then that explains things.' His thoughts continued as his eyes slowly searched the hole in the paper target. 'But even so, a first-timer could never fire shots with just one hand, considering this type of pistol.'
Tiger narrowed his eyes as he studied the paper target. It was clean, so he checked the next page and the page after that. Everything was clear, even to the edges. However, when he checked the fourth page, Tiger moved his face closer.
"Huh?" Deep lines appeared between his brows, noticing this crease in the edge of the hole as if something went through the hole and grazed it a bit. "No."
Tiger shook his head, checking the fifth and sixth. All of them had the same issue as the fourth one.
"What are you doing?" Suddenly, Bear's voice rang from behind him. In a snap of an eye, Bear stood beside him, only to see that Tiger was holding these paper targets, frozen.
"Oy, Bear, tell me..." Tiger slowly cocked his head back, setting his unblinking eyes on the old man. ".. this is not her first time, right?"
Bear pressed his lips into a thin line, shifting his eyes to the paper targets Tiger was staring at.
"The first three were clean, considering they were unmoving targets. But the last three... I think she used her left hand. It's her non-dominant hand, so it's almost clean." Tiger set his unblinking eyes back on the paper targets in his hand. "It's still amazing, nonetheless."
"Still, a question now exists in my head." His expression slowly sharpened, eyes fixed on the crease inside the hole. "Who... the fuck is Jennie Kim, Bernard?"
