"I wasn't ready, the day you gave me your heart
I was still falling apart
But since that moment,I can't stop hearing your name
Wondering about you always"

I heard a voice coming from the music room as I walked past towards the library. It sounded nothing like any other voice I had heard previously, but it had a familiar touch to it.

When I peered it, it was Ross who was sat with his legs crossed, writing as lyric ideas hit him. "Awesome-"

He stopped alarmed, and I fell down behind a drum kit. My elbow hit the bass drum and I silently cussed to myself. Through the narrow gap between the drums, I noticed the blonde was still skeptical.

I hid again, and then he coughed, which startled me. I jumped out of my skin and was nearly decapitated due to falling on top of the cymbals and one coming up to my neck.

"Athena?" He rushed to help me up. "Are you okay?!"

"A little bit dusty, but I'm fine" I brushed the dust off me. "What were you playing?"

"Oh, nothing. Just a little thing I made up" he returned to the table and I followed.

It was strange; I imagined our first talk since our argument to be awkward and strange, yet it felt as if we were back in F.A.S.T.. I took a seat beside him. "May I listen?"

"Sure. I assume you've heard the start so I'll go from the chorus, yeah?"

I nodded patiently as he continued to strum.

"Come back Georgia come back
Come back Georgia come back
I just need another chance
Chance to make it better

I was unhappy
The day you left out my door
I was just feeling unsure
So long I've missed you
Now I can honestly say
I'm ready to love you always"

I paused for a second, taking in the joy  that a simple repetition of chords with some words on top brought me. Ross smiled at me and I smiled back. "I think you like it"

"It's beautiful" I said. "Was it written for anybody in particular?"

"It's kind of a personal song, I started the melody shortly after I woke up from my coma as it was the only thing I could strangely remember how to do.  And one of the first feelings I felt when I woke up was love; and then came this song" he shrugged. "Then, came the name Georgia, which just stuck with me for some reason"

"That's funny" he looked at me intrigued. "My middle name's Georgia"

"Really? That's crazy"

Shortly after his words came a comfortable silence, where I stayed looking at my nails and swinging my legs back and forth. Ross did the same, but fiddling with chords lightly.

He suddenly slapped his hands on the strings. "Where did we go wr-"

My phone buzzed at the same time and he stopped. I shot him an apologetic look and picked up, "Kinda busy, who is it?"

"It's Riker, our science assessment, remember!" I looked at the clock as he spoke. "4pm!"

It was 4:25. "Crap, I'll be there in a second"

Ross watched as I hung up and hopped off the table. "I have to go, but we aren't finished here"

I made it on time to finish our science assessment, and then Riker decided our whole friend group (Casey, Spencer, Rocky, Ross, Sierra etc) was going to a karaoke bar. At a given point, Casey pulled me aside.

"Why is she here again?"

"Who?"

"Sierra" she hissed. "She keeps throwing herself at guys and dragging me along"

"She's just being nice" I reasoned.

"There is a line between being nice and suggestively touching a guy's lap, Athena" Casey rolled her eyes. "You can't possibly like her, can you?"

Over the weeks, I have grown closer to Sierra due to my mission and on the outside she seems like a total bitch yet when we hang out together she is a sweetheart. I just wish she was always like that.

Casey's eyes widened. "Are you serious?"

"Stop judging her, please. You don't know a thing about her, and you don't try because you are too busy judging her" I said.

"It's not judging, but who are you to tell me what to do" she shook her head. "I'm sorry but, as long as she's with us, I won't be"

"Casey, are you willing to put our friendship on the line because of someone?"

She hesitated, but then looked me square in the eye. "I guess I am"

Without much else to say, she walked away and out of the bar. I released a sigh and brought my hands up to my face. As I brought them back down, something else added to the ache in my chest.

Ross was speaking to a brunette, who was everything I wasn't and could do everything I couldn't. And that thing apparently was making him smile.

Lost the potential love of my life. Lost my best friend. Anything else?

added the lovely song featured on the chapter on the side, 'Georgia' by Emily King...it's one of my favourite songs right now :)
