The next day Delaney had been at Sonic Boom with Ally while Ally worked there. Dez sat on a nearby chair with Carrie, who was working on her latest knitting project. Delaney leaned against the counter, fidgeting with the necklace she had gotten the day before. Ally had noticed and asked about it curiously, complimenting on it as well.

"Thanks, yeah, I got it yesterday." Delaney replied with a smile.

"When you were with Austin at the pier?" Ally asks teasingly. "Trish told me you guys went there together for most of the day."

Delaney groans, burying her face in her hands to hide the blush creeping up her neck. "Why does everyone insist on making a big deal out of this?" She grumbles. "We're best friends, best friends hang out."

"Yeah, but best friends don't look at each other like you guys do." Ally points out. She was tired of seeing them dance around their feelings. They needed a push in the right direction, and she was going to give it. "Look, Del, I know you're afraid of ruining your friendship, but don't you think it's worth a shot? The same thing happened with me and Finny, and now look at us! We celebrated our one month anniversary yesterday!" She beams, her eyes shining with joy. "And who knows, maybe the same thing will happen for you and Austin. I mean, you guys have known each other since we were kids. You're practically perfect for each other."

Delaney bit her lip, considering Ally's words. She could feel the truth in them, the undeniable chemistry that had been building between her and Austin for years. But the fear of risking their friendship loomed large in her mind. "But what if it doesn't work out? What if I ruin everything?"

Ally rolls her eyes playfully. "What if it does work out? You'd be missing out on something amazing just because you're scared. You can't let fear hold you back forever. Life is too short for what-ifs!"

Delaney sighs, her heart heavy with uncertainty. "I know you're right. I just wish it was easier. And besides, I don't think he feels the same way. I mean, he called me his best friend yesterday and Carrie tried setting him up with her sister. He wasn't interested, but it still makes me wonder if I'm just imagining things."

Ally shakes her head. "Del, do you really believe he doesn't feel the same way? Have you seen the way he looks at you? It's like you hung the stars. And I've heard him talk about you when you're not around. Trust me, he feels the same way. You just need to take that leap of faith and tell him. It's worth it, I promise."

Delaney hesitates, the doubt gnawing at her. She wanted so badly to believe in Ally, but her insecurities and fears held her back. "I don't know..."

"Come on, Del, you know I'm right. You guys are so cute together, and you make each other so happy. Why not take a chance on love?" Ally gently nudged her, smiling encouragingly.

Delaney sighs, the weight of her doubts still pressing down on her. She wished it could be that easy, but she couldn't seem to shake the fear of losing him. "I'll think about it, but can we drop it for now? I can't take all these questions and teasing." She pleaded, hoping to avoid further discussion.
