Eren had just avoided a whole canon shot fired towards himself, Mikasa and Armin. And he did it by letting the upper half of a Titan body appear out of nowhere.

The soldiers around them stood frozen in shock, their weapons still loosely aimed at the three cadets before them.

The soldiers got Eren and the others surrounded, making it impossible for them to escape.

Armin emerged from the smoke, his gear falling to the ground.

Kitz Wellman—the captain of the Garrison—and his soldiers surrounding Eren jumped in fear of the sudden movement.

Armin stood still in front of them, arms held high as a sign of surrender.

"You've finally shown your true self monster!" Kitz yelled, his emotions completely out of control. "I'll do it! I'll give the signal!"

"He is not an enemy of humanity! We are prepared to share all the information we have!" Armin tried to reason with him.

"I'm not interested in hearing you plead for your lives! How can I believe you, when he's shown us all what he really is?!" The Garrison captain kept yelling, his judgement clouded by fear. "If you say he's not an enemy, then prove it! If you can't, I'll be forced to eliminate the threat!"

Armin's face showed anger as he lowered his arms. "There's no need for proof! ...The question isn't what we think of him!"

"What did you say?!"

"I'm told that many of you saw him! Then you saw him fighting the Titans! And you saw the Titans swarm him!" Armin yelled determined. The soldiers around them quipped, not able to deny the truth in his words.

"That means the Titans consider him food, the same way they think of us! That is the truth no matter what we may think or believe!"

All the other soldiers who were pointing their swords at him suddenly stood confused, their weapons lowered slightly. Mumbled agreements to Armin's words were muttered.

Captain Kitz's breath came out short and panicked, sweat forming on his face. He quickly made a hand gesture, ignoring Armin's words. "Prepare to attack! Don't be fooled by their clever lies!" He shouted.

"...The Titan's actions have always been beyond our understanding! It's possible they could pretend to be human! Speak human language, and try to deceive us! WE CAN'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING ELSE!"

His fright controlled words rang through the air loudly, his soldiers immediately straightening their postures and readying their swords again.

Armin didn't know how to handle Kitz, his fear wasn't letting him think straight at all. His breath hitched.
