Sometimes beauty doesn't refer to the outward appearance
Sometimes it's what's within
Sometimes it doesn't even refer to a specific person
But rather the experiences and time they share
With another
They love and care for this person
In the way only a friend could
There's a beauty in that
A beauty that's very plain to see
I guess what I'm trying to say is
I'll laugh when you laugh
And cry when you cry
And cherish each moment
As it passes by
I'll hold on to each special memory
We keep
And pray for you each night
As I fall asleep
I'll be there to listen
To all that you say
But maybe words
Won't be enough anyway
And if that's the case
Then I won't leave you
In every dark time
I will carry you through
We'll carry each other
Through good and through bad
In guilt or in anger
In happy or sad
We will share moments
No matter the day
No matter the time
Or if we're away
If we end up
In different places
With different people
And new, different faces
We will still always
Be there for each other
Better than sisters
Better than brothers
After all, true friends
Are never apart
Well, maybe in distance
"But never in heart"
