Jovi Winchester never had a easy life, especially being born into a world of hunting. But her life got flipped upside down when her dad dies once again but this time comes back as a demon and he's nothing but trouble for society.
𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒊 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆...
𝑱𝒐𝒗𝒊 𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒌𝒆, the dim light of the bunker casting soft shadows across her room. Her body still ached, a dull throb radiating from the bandages wrapped around her side where the werewolf's bullet had nearly taken her life. She let out a small groan as she shifted, but her eyes landed on a sight that immediately made her lips twitch into a smirk.
Ares was slumped in her desk chair, his long limbs awkwardly sprawled, one arm dangling off the side and his head tilted back at an impossible angle. He looked like he'd fought a losing battle with sleep and lost spectacularly.
Unable to resist, Jovi grabbed the nearest pillow and lobbed it at him. The soft thud of impact made him jolt upright, his eyes wide and disoriented.
"What the—?!" Ares sputtered, blinking rapidly as he looked around before his gaze landed on her. "Seriously, Jo?"
Jovi snorted, clutching her side as she tried not to laugh too hard. "Seriously? You looked like one of those wacky inflatable tube men. I couldn't just let you sleep like that."
Ares rubbed his face, muttering something under his breath before shooting her a mock glare. "Oh, sorry, princess. Next time, I'll make sure my discomfort doesn't offend your royal sensibilities."
Jovi grinned, propping herself up on her elbow. "Next time, don't fall asleep in my room. You've got your own bed, you know."
"Yeah, but your room's more fun," he retorted with a smirk, sitting up straighter and stretching. "How're you feeling, anyway? You still, you know, half-dead?"
Jovi rolled her eyes. "I'm healing, thanks for the concern. I don't feel like I got run over by a truck anymore, so that's progress."
Ares nodded, his expression softening slightly, though he quickly masked it with his usual smirk. "Good. Can't have you milking this whole 'I almost died' thing for too long. It's getting old."
