Every April my relationships (or potential relationships) end abruptly and painfully. This will be the third year in a row that it's happened and so far this has been by far the worst. I didn't want to believe it could end and I'm having a great deal of trouble getting used to it. Fortunately or not, my unconscious mind told me exactly what was going to happen a day or so before the end was even threatened.

The dream started with track. Of course, this wasn’t just any track it was intense track. We were doing all this crazy stuff, but I can’t remember whether or not I struggled. I remember telling the coach I couldn’t find my track bag. It wasn’t where I left it and a few other girls had the same problem. A few minutes later, while we were waiting in the locker room, the coach came back with our bags all snowy and wet. Mine was filled with ice.

There was a time gap and I was sitting in the middle of the field that was more like a court yard in the center of the track. We were sitting at some Japanese style table with the trainer. It was me and two other girls who were my friends. I remember thinking “he’s so attractive we’d eat anything he gives us” because we were doing some kind of taste test. I remember eating a scorpion but I don’t know what was after that.

My mom told me I could skip the next day. I remember when I went home it was nighttime and track practice was still going on like it was non-stop. I went straight to my room when I got home and went to bed. Once I was asleep I woke up; like my spirit came out of my body. I decided to go back to the track and spy on what I was missing while my body slept. Oh, I also remember that I fell asleep with the lights on.

I could fly and it was kind of like in Minecraft I guess. I flew above the road, but close enough that I could still see it very well. There were no cars and no people outside, which is only slightly strange considering the fact that the way to the school is all back roads from my house. I thought I was lost because it’d taken so long, but I finally spotted the school. I flew higher and a lot faster since I could see the school.

Everything went black and white for a while as I flew around seeing what everyone was doing. I was glad I didn’t have to do it because it looked difficult. I flew down into the boys locker room because I knew (for some reason) that my boyfriend was there. He and three other guys were doing something with an oval portal on the wall, which didn’t seem to weird. I went to where the showers were and hid partially behind the wall even though I knew they couldn’t see me.

There was my boyfriend, and then a guy who was a little older but looked like my boyfriend, and in the middle was a strong guy with black hair who looked about the same age as my boyfriend. The coach was there too. I sat and watched as they seemed to be fighting some war on the other side of the portal, which was dark and I couldn’t see very well. My boyfriend turned around and shot another portal in the wall at the end of the showers. I had to dodge out of the way since I didn’t know if that stuff could effect me.

Ultimately that second portal was a terrible idea. The middle guy was just shooting the enemies like he should, but the stray bullets were coming through the other portal and back at them. I had to hide further behind the wall and the coach had to yell at him for almost shooting my boyfriend to death. I spent some more time watching and then the middle one pulled the pin on a grenade. The coach and I were already yelling “no” as he threw it into the portal.

I hid in the shower as the grenade bounced in through the other portal and listened as it exploded in the other room. When I peeked in the room there was blood everywhere. The black haired guy and the guy who looked like my boyfriend were screaming and on fire. They’d been running around so I had to guess at which one was my boyfriend. I ran to him and somehow managed to pat the fire out. He fell to the floor and I could tell if he was alive or not. I cried over his body and touched the side of his scruffy face that wasn’t burned.
