At Sanctuary during the second loop

"Natsuki-san..." A voice called out to Subaru. He simply rolled over in the futon away from the noise. "Natsuki-san!" Subaru rolled back before sitting up.

"Can't a guy get some sleep?" Subaru looked to who was waking him up. Standing beside him was the fully dressed merchant Otto, holding two bowls of warm soup. "You got breakfast?"

"Breakfast!? It's an hour to Fire time. (11AM)" Otto sat down. Placing Subaru's bowl next to him. "Are you one of those people who sleeps till Midday?" Subaru picked up his bowl, eating a spoon full.

Subaru held back a tear as the freshly made soup burned the top of his mouth. "Thanks for the food."

"Goodness Natsuki-san..." Otto sweatdropped at Subaru, blowing on his spoon before eating his. "Where's Y/N-san? I haven't seen him all morning."

"He's gone back to the Mansion with Ram-"

"HE WHAT?!" Subaru almost dropped his bowl from Otto's outburst. "Why would he leave? Isn't he supposed to be our bodyguard?"

"Geez, calm down." Subaru puts his soup down before Otto does cause him to spill it. "He'll be back... I think." He muttered the last part.

"You constantly worry me, Natsuki-san." Tears comical flowed down Otto's face. "We've been left with no way to defend ourselves, and you're not fazed." Subaru responded with a smile and thumbs up, only adding to Otto's worry for deciding to follow him.

"But I do need your help with something." Subaru's expression sharpened. "With Y/N gone, you're the only one I can count on for this." Otto was hesitant to listen to what Subaru had to say.

"What is it, Natsuki-san?" Yet he still chose to listen.

"I need you to be my ears around the sanctuary, I don't know who to trust yet." Y/N had unintentionally made a comment about Roswaal hiring her when seeing Capella last loop. Also knowing Elsa and Meili were supposed to attack in the future Y/N knew, along with Roswaal not being in the domain right as the Witch Cult attacked.

Subaru concluded the clown had been orchestrating everything that's happened so far. "Roswaal seems to be hiding something, and I don't know where Garfiel stands in all of this." Y/N had said nothing about Garf to Subaru, he assumed he was supposed to figure the Demi-Human out himself in order to keep Subaru following a good path...

It's weird getting told what the future holds... Is that how everyone feels when I know something I shouldn't?

"Are you even listening to me!?" Otto spoke with frustration and a subtle acceptance Subaru would not listen to what he said.

Subaru quickly put his arms up, giving a half hearted apology. "Sorry, I was thinking about something."

"Honesty..." Otto let out a sigh. "Why did I decide to follow you?"

"Because I saved your life." Subaru teased.

"You didn't have to say it so bluntly!"

After Subaru finished his soup and freshened up, his first stop was Roswaal.
