I love the saying, "Winner stands alone."
The desire to achieve is written in my bones.
I don't want to be a Jack of all trades,
But a master of none.
I don't want to shine with borrowed light from the Sun.
I don't want to be second to anyone.
But when it comes to hard work,
I have a habit to shirk.
I want the easy way out in life.
Avoiding all strife.
Yet, I want to leave behind a legacy that won't lose to the flow of time.
A fame that isn't sublime.
I like to blame it on talent ,
when I can't get things done.
When things get tough, I give up easily, I run.
I know deep down ,
I'm a true coward.
But, I hate being overpowered.
There are times when I wish I could change,
This part of me.
There are times when I wish ,
I tried for things out of my range.
Dive into challenges that I normally,
Wouldn't want to see.
However, my pessimism runs too deep.
I'm afraid to take the leap.
The climb is too steep.
I know this mindset is wrong,
But its been this way for so long !
That I believe its too late, to turn over a new leaf.
Author's Note: I wrote this poem as a project for my psychology class on mindsets. It is truly a very intriguing concept. Fixed Vs Growth mindset. Sound familiar ? If not and you are interested just google "Carol Dweck" . She came up with the theory. She is a very famous psychologist.
I actually had goosebumps on accurate the theory was for me while learning about it.
