I watched it burn,
Taking it as another lesson to learn.
Beyond salvation and frangible it was,
The contract I had signed,
In return for friendship.
Tenacious and intractable ,
Never the one to reconcile or apologize first.
Obstinate and impervious no matter what.
Tossed aside just like that.
I, an inconsequential existence, to you.
They all said you were impossible,
That your personality was terrible.
But I tried. I still tried.
Like the gullible fool I was,
I put on that collar in the name of friendship.
I trusted you
And you treated me like trash.
You started the feuds and turned your back on me,
How many times did I forgive and forget ?
Enough.
So this time, you cut the ropes—
But I burned the bridge.
Terminus.
Letting go has always been easier for me,
Than holding on.
I am used to it,
My fourth mistake.
I guess I don't have what it takes
Not when my,
Pride is at stake.
