Leila followed her brothers to the living room. All the way, Zach did not let her hand go. He held it carefully. Leila bit the inside of her cheek, silently contemplating in her mind while looking at her brothers.

"What should we do?" Luciano broke the silence. He did not face Leila since the moment he came out of the room with his siblings, even if he could perfectly feel that her depressed eyes were looking at him. He felt ashamed. He had promised her multiple times that he would not let anyone hurt her but today's predicament had made him feel useless. His blood boiled as he could still hear that man's words in his mind.

Before Carlo could respond to him, Leila took the lead.

"It's easy isn't it? You should let me go."

Her blank voice stunned her brothers. Zach's hand around her hand tightened unconsciously

"What the hell are you saying?" Antonio's temper was quick to flare up. His eyes narrowed at her dangerously.

Leila shrank back but her resolve did not fade away.

She looked at him before speaking softly.

"Can't you see he is deliberately targeting me? He knows that I'm the only weakness of our family and he took full advantage of it! If I wasn't kidnapped in the first place, no one would have suffered! You, Antonio also would not have to go through all that pain and torture! The real Xavier would have been here with us! Who knows now if he is really al--" She paused.

Her shoulders trembled slightly. She did not want to think this, none of her brothers wanted to.

On the other side, Xever was watching them through the camera. A smirk formed at the end of his lips as he listened to Leila's words.

In this game, he had an upper hand. Only he knows where Xavier is right now, whether he is breathing or not, it does not matter but it was pitifully easy for him to blackmail his little siblings. They were willing to do anything for his safety. Xever enjoyed this thoroughly that he could easily control their strings like a puppeteer.

"What I mean is, if Xavier could not fight him, we all cannot. It is hopeless! I don't want him to hurt you all and Xavier like our Father."

"Thanks for letting us know that you think so lowly of us!" Antonio snorted.

Leila frowned.

"I didn't mean that." She said, this time tears were brimming at the corner of her eyes.

"Leila, Xavier can never lose. Because he can never afford to let his family down....I don't want to believe that Xever is holding Xavier hostage either. We just have to wait. Xavier will return and that is for sure." Carlo stated.

"Until he returns, you have to trust us. I know what am I doing....I will never let you or our siblings down too in our oldest brother's absence."

Xever raised his brow as he listened to Carlo's words.

"Why does he sound so sure?" He could not help but ask himself. The certainty in Carlo's voice troubled Xever.

"Is there something that I don't know?"

Xever leaned back on his chair. The event of that day played in his mind.

He jolted out of his thoughts a moment later. The last image left in his mind was the one where he buried Xavier in the snow.

"How can a corpse come back to life?"

He chuckled.
