Next day, as usual Leila woke up early and helped her brothers in doing the chores. While she was making breakfast for them, Carlo abruptly went out of the door after telling them that he would be back by the dinner.
"What's happening?" Luciano questioned curiously.
Leila looked up at Angelo who had just entered the kitchen but he pretended to not hear Luciano's question.
After breakfast, her brothers took their leave for work, leaving Leila in Angelo's care.
"Angelo....We need to buy groceries again." Half of the stuff she bought yesterday was ruined due to her attempted kidnapping.
Angelo nodded as he finished washing the dishes with her.
"Just call me when you are ready."
Leila hmmed and went to her room to get dressed.
Just as she came out of the room, the doorbell rang.
Angelo frowned slightly as he approached the door and opened it.
He froze for a moment.
"Who is it, Angelo?" Leila asked while approaching from behind him.
Her eyes widened.
"What's the shock? Won't you two welcome me in your humble abode, my dear siblings?" Xever mocked.
After seeing him, Leila's initial reaction was to scramble far away from him.
"You are not welcome here." Angelo's voice was calm and collected but Leila could see that the muscles in his back were tensed.
"Tch....How could you hate your own brother so much?" Xever was not a bit bothered as he pulled a cigarette out and lit it.
"Go to your room, Leila." Angelo spoke, without turning to look back at her.
Leila hesitated but she chose to stay.
Angelo sighed, knowing her inner dilemma well. Thus, he repeated sternly.
"Leila! I said go back to your room!"
Scared, Leila's feet moved on their own accord when suddenly Xever spoke.
"Stay, Leila!"
Leila froze again.
"Look she listens to me well. Even more than you." Xever mocked with a smirk.
As Leila had made her mind to obey Angelo's words, Xever again spoke.
"If you move even an inch, there will be consequences!"
Leila paled.
In the exact moment, Angelo had pointed a gun at Xever's head.
"How dare you scare her in front of me!"
Xever did not seem to care about the gun as he looked at it with a little gloom in his eyes.
Angelo did not hesitate and he instantly pulled the trigger.
Leila shuddered at the loud sound.
Not surprisingly, Xever had dodged the bullet nonchalantly.
"You have the guts, huh?"
Suddenly, all the carelessness vanished from Xever's face and a dark look crossed over his face.
"Try to stop me from taking your sister away again." He whispered.
"When I gave you all an option beforehand, I was just going to send your sister to King family for few days but today, I have sold her to them. Show your remaining guts and stop me!"
Angelo was caught off-guard for the moment, his body hit the floor hard as Xever sent a punch to his face suddenly.
"ANGELO!" Leila screamed in concern and she was about to run to him but-
"You-fucking bastard!" Angelo cursed and lunged at Xever.
Leila did not manage to hear what Xever had said to Angelo a moment ago but she knew that whatever those words were, they had provoked Angelo badly.
Leila had never seen him losing his calm.
Xever and Angelo exchanged blows. Xever was abnormally strong for some reason but Angelo was fighting him aggressively too.
Leila ran to the kitchen to get her phone that she had left earlier there while making breakfast.
She called Carlo but he did not answer.
Thus, she called Zach.
Zach answered immediately.
"Yo Leil--"
"Zach!" Leila almost shouted in panic.
"What's wrong?" His voice turned serious. On his side, he had already ran out of the diner. Catching his sight, his brothers came out from different directions.
"X-xever is here! He-he is fighting Angelo.... please hurry!" Leila was close to crying.
She had never imagined that this situation would ever come. Xever came so suddenly and----
"I-I am scared."
Zach listened to her but did not answer for another two minutes.
"We are here!" She finally heard his voice and collapsed on the floor, in relief. She hugged her knees tightly.
A loud crash sounded from outside.
