Chapter FIFTY-NINE

"Serena darling, wake up." I felt my mom gently shakes me. I fluttered my eyes open and immediately got blinded by the sunlight as soon she opens the curtains. "...Wash up and go down. Breakfast is ready."

"This early?" I croacked.

Damn, it's 8 am.

I brushed my teeth, washed my face, tied my hair into a messy bun before wearing an oversized hoodie.

"Mom, have you seen my--" I did a double look on the person sitting on the couch, looking at me with teary eyes.

No way.

"...Hani?" I'm surprised. Beyond. I can't explain my feeling right now. She looks really different now. Her face matured a bit, bleached and cut her hair and also had few facial enhancements. But she still looks beautiful.

I watched as she slowly walk towards me with an upset look.

"Hani I--" I was interrupted when she pulled me into a tight hug followed by low sobs on the crook of my neck.

"We're leaving, sweetie." Mom almost whispered while leaving with dad.

I just nodded while rubbing Hani's back. I heard the door closed and Hani pulled away, wiping away the tears from her face.

"Hani, what--how did you find me?" I almost stuttered, still couldn't believe at her presence.

"Your brother is courting my cousin!"

My eyes widened, "What?"

"I saw him on a video call with my cousin and I had to beg him off to spill where you are. He really didn't wanna tell me but I couldn't stand it! You have a lot of explaining to do!" She sniffled once again while glaring at me.

My lips curled up into a smile and pulled her into a hug again. Yeah, I do have a lot of explaining to do...

"...and so, that's all that happened."

I already told Hani everything, even after I left Korea until meeting Ni-ki here again. After all, she deserves to hear the truth on why decided to cut everyone off. It was for the peace of everyone.

"So all these and you decided to include me in your detox session? I thought we're bestfriends!" She pouted.

"You still are my bestfriend. I know it was my mistake to just leave you for 3 years without any notice and I understand if you are mad--"

"Of course I am mad! I felt betrayed!"

I looked down in shame, "I understand..."

"But, I couldn't get married without my bestfriend being my maid of honor..." I looked up to see her showing off her engagement ring with a big smile on her face, "...I'm getting married!"

"Oh my God..." Tears started brimming in my eyes as I look at her diamond ring, "Congratulations. With who?"

"With Sewon of course!"

"Aww you guys are still together??" I pout because I find it cute how they're still strong despite everything.

"He proposd to me 2 months ago and so our wedding will be this saturday so I want you to come with me back home..."

My smile slowly dropped. What does she mean by back home?"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"My wedding will be in Korea so I was hoping you could come. I already booked us a flight and you will be staying in my house while you stay in Korea."
