“She was here, wasn’t she?” Sydney could tell something was keeping Paul from being completely there, in the moment. And this wasn’t like him at all.

“Yeah. I didn’t see her until about halfway through, but it was her.” Paul still couldn’t believe it. First of all Millie had come to see him preach. Was she here out of support? Did she want to be here for her own reasons? That didn’t really matter... she was here! So, that meant she had to live close. He could not imagine someone with her phobias going to an airport and getting on a plane. Not to mention that they had just chatted this morning. And she had posted another poem.

So, the bottom line to everything... she lived close and it blew his mind. It took every ounce of determination not to walk up to her during his sermon and pull her into his arms. For the rest of the sermon, that is all he wanted to do. But, he held on to the fact that she lived close and she was here. Hope sprang within him that they could be together after the sermon. But, then she walked out.

“Why didn’t she stick around?” Sydney took a bite of her salad. “I mean, she showed up and then left before even talking to you?”

“Syd, you don’t get it. She has this phobia and for her to even come here was huge! And she did that for me. I just pray that this was a first step and God is not finished healing her.”

Millie opened the church website and watched the streaming video. She fast forwarded until the last question she had walked out on. Then she heard it. Paul said, “A good friend of mine, reminded me the other night, to always have fun. Always be able to laugh with the people laughing at you. So, Ima Fun and it’s been real! God Bless!”
