Kakashi's daughter, Sasuke's lover? What? Ch 31

I sighed and walked through the forest,

“Where’s Konaha? I know it’s around here somewhere…” I murmured as I emerged from a rather prickly bush. I gasped when I finally came across what I was looking for… only.. it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping to see. Every house, every shop, was on fire. It was everywhere, I quickly ran into the village,

“Help!”

“It’s a demon!”

“Somebody help! My baby is still in the house!” Despite the last one I kept running, almost mechanically. I’ve seen this before, even though I can’t remember, I have defiantly seen this! I ran to where my gut told me, the armoury.

I slowed when I saw three familiar characters. One huddling in a corner, the other two fighting,

“N-Nee-san! Oto-san! Okaa-san!” I whispered in shock, I looked up and saw the giant fox they were battling. The eldest, which was my father of course, jumped at the fox, his katana’s shining in determination. I quickly ran over to my brother, his silver chin length hair was covered in blood and he had major wounds covering his body. I looked over to my father and saw that he was the same; I quickly ran over to my mum, she was relatively unharmed. It was then I noticed the toddler she was cradling,

“So... this is how I know this…” I whispered, I dropped to my knees and let my head drop,

“Ayame.” My head sho up when I heard my mother speak,

“I’m scared!” My toddler self whispered while clinging for dear life to my mother,

“It’s alright. Look, I’m going to have to take you to the tunnels. You have to trust me ok? Leave the village for a good week. Do you remember what I taught you about survival?” Little me nodded furiously, my mum smiled with tears welling in her eyes, “I’m going to have to help everyone here. I promise I’ll be here when this is all over.” Little me nodded again, “Ok.” My mum got into a semi-standing position, “Ready?” She picked me up, “Set…” She watched the beast roar at my dad and brother, “GO!” She then quickly shot off, I started running after her. As much as it killed me to leave my dad and brother, I needed to hear what she had to say.

I followed her all the way to the villages emergency tunnels, people were already lined up, trying to get in first. Some people were literally climbing over each other to try and get through. My mum made a noise of dissaprovement. She spun around when people started screaming in terror,

“IT’S COMING!” They all yelled, my mum spun around and I could already see the grief on her face. She knew what had happened. She then placed little me on the ground,

“Ok sweetie, this is where we part. There’s a secret tunnel for the Hokage hidden under those bushes. I want you to take that and do as I told you ok?”

“Will you still be here?” I asked, mum looked at the ground sadly,

“Mummy might have to break her promise.” Just as little me was about to start crying, mum ushered me over, “Quickly now!”

“OKAA-SAN!” I screamed as the monster raised its claws and swung for my mum. She turned and her eyes widened with surprise and fear, one sentence left her mouth,

“Gomenasai, Ayame.”

“NO!” I exclaimed as I sat up in my bed, I looked around, not in a hospital… where am I?

“Ayame?!” Someone called, I looked up and saw none other than Kakashi run into the room, “What’s wrong?” He asked as he surveyed the room. I felt my bottom lip tremble as I tried to hold back my tears, eventually my emotions overpowered me and I wept into my hands,

“Ayame…” Kakashi murmured as he sat on my bed, I leaned into him and cried into his chest, “What’s the matter Aya-chan?” He asked as he rubbed my back in a soothing manner,

“I-I drea-eamed of O-Okaa-san, Ne-ee-san and O-O-Oto-san!” I stuttered as more tears rolled down my cheeks,

“Shhhh. Would they want you to cry like this?” Kakashi whispered, I shook my head but still kept my face hidden in Kakashi chest, “Make them proud Aya-chan. Don’t mourn their death, celebrate their life instead.” I sniffed and withdrew,

“H-Hai.” Kakashi softened his gaze even more,

“This may seem like the wrong time to tell you but the Hokage’s funeral is today.” My eyes widened,

“H-He’s dead?” Kakashi nodded, it was then that I noticed Kakashi’s black suit he was wearing, “I-I don’t have a-“ Kakashi held up a simple black dress. I sniffed and took it, “Arigato. You’re too good to me.” Kakashi smiled and stood up,

“I’ll leave you to it.” I nodded and he left the room.

I left the house with my hair tied in a bun and the black dress on. Kakashi and I walked down the street in silence; we were taking our time because Kakashi had made sure that we left the house an hour earlier than needed. I looked up and saw rain clouds gathering,

“Oto-san.”

“Hm?” Kakashi turned to looked at me,

“The sky, it’s sad.” He looked up at the grey, usually blue, sky,

“It seems that way.” The rest of the trip was silence from then on.

I looked at the ground sadly as the ceremony commenced. The two village elders where up the front and the rest of us were behind. I looked up as rain started falling, it got heavier and heavier but nobody left just yet. I closed my eyes and let the rain disguise the single tear that leaked out of my eye,

“We are here to houner and remember not only the third Hokage, all those who sacrificed themselves in this battle, so that our village would survive.” The male elder started, I sniffed and looked to my right, the spot where Kakashi should be. The spot that was unattended.

It finally came time to lay the roses on the Hokage’s grave. I took a step forward and started making my way to his tomb stone, I placed the flower with the other and bowed my head in respect,

“Arigato, old man.” I whispered as I retreated slowly from the stone. As I waited for everyone to pay their respects, the rain stopped. I looked up again and noticed that Kakashi was standing beside me, he was talking to Naruto. I just hung my head in silent despair. I looked up at the sky when I saw a small patch of light form on the ground, the clouds were disbursing. I swallowed and looked at the Hokage’s picture with determination, I promise. I’ll become a better ninja, no matter what. I thought.

“Bye Iruka sensei! See ya later!” Naruto called before he turned and ran for us, Sasuke’s and I had our fingers entwined and I had rested my head on his shoulder while we were waiting,

“Alright.” Iruka answered.

From now on, there's going to be a new Ayame. That is official.

WOOOOO! I updated. EWWWW! My dog is licking my foot. NAWWWWW! Only one longish chapter or two shortish chapters left!! NAWWWW!!!! BUTT!!! I've already got the sequal's first 2 chapters ready so it's all good ^-^ Anywayss, remember to comment, vote and fan :)
