I collapsed onto my couch. Looking to my right, I saw Kakashi reading his 'Make Out Paradise'. I rolled my eyes and looked back to the T.V, where there were flickering images of two news reporters who were going on about an attack on a small village near the sand village,

"My luck for choosing the only perverted ninja in Konaha..." I muttered under my breath, thinking he wouldn't hear.

"What was that?" I heard Kakashi ask from behing me, causing me to stiffen

"N-Nothing. It was nothing." I heard Kakashi chuckle quietly to himself.

"Damn right it was nothing." My mouth curved into a smile as I heard him retreat. A door closed somewhere in the house, signaling that Kakashi had gone into another room. I sighed warily, as someone was approaching my house.

Not a second after I thought that, someone knocked at the door. I stood up and skipped over to it happily before swinging the door open. My smile grew when I saw Kiba, Shikamaru, Choji, Neji and Lee. I flung myself at Kiba, and as I did, Akamaru trotted up to his side and barked. Giggling, I lent down to pat him on the head gently,

"Hey," Kiba casually put his arms behind his head, "Do you wanna go to Ichiraku's?" I smiled at him as I stood up straight.

"I'll ask if I can go." A cough behind me alerted everybody of Kakashi's presence. In response, I turned, only to find Kakashi standing on the ceiling. Pursing my lips, I asked. "Do I have to ask?" He shrugged, putting away his book,

"You can go. Just don't stay out too late." I grinned, thankful that Kakashi was as uncaring as he acted.

"Thank you! I'll be home early, I promise!" I yelled as I ran out the door, Kiba pulling me down the street with the others

We all laughed and chatted happily as we approached Ichiraku's, until I heard some muffled laughing. I turned my head towards the commotion, only to see Naruto standing with some boys I'd never seem before. I stopped walking and watched as they pushed him to the ground, to which Neji turned and stared at me. No doubt he wondered why I'd stopped my walking.

"Is everything alright Ayame-chan?" He asked in his naturally calm voice.

"I don't know." I quietly muttered my response, still focused in the group and Naruto. I turned back to my group of friends and smiled, "I-I'll be right back, you guys go on ahead." They nodded and watched as I ran off towards Naruto, who was currently attempting to get to his feet.

I arrived just as Naruto managed to stand up straight, I bit back a shout as one of the boys pushed Naruto back down onto the dirt flooring.

"Hey!" I yelled, my soft voice made them turn and smirk at me,

"What have we got here?" One of the boys mused with a smirk.

"Look! She thinks she can save him. She isn't even a ninja and she thinks she can take us." He started to prance around doing a crude imitation of a helpless girl, "Look at me! I'm so strong! I can save the nerd!" All of the boys started to laugh loudly.

I looked down at Naruto who was glaring at them, eyes full of fury.

"Leave her alone!" He ordered them loudly, they all sobered up and turned to him,

"I don't think your in the right position to be telling us what to do." I scowled at them,

"I'll give you to the count of three before I make you let him go." One of the boys rolled their eyes,

"Alright."

"One. Two. Three." They all laughed at my attempt at being threatening.

"What are you going to do now?" I bit my lip and looked down at Naruto, who was sprawled out on the ground. He too was looking at me curiously, wondering what I was planning to do.
