all of us, forever

Enrico's POV

It's been a few weeks since the babies were born—sleepless nights, quiet feeding cuddles, and chaotic but beautiful moments as a new little family. But tonight, for the first time in what feels like forever, it's just us—me, Art, Sev, and Luc.

Papa and Father insisted we take the night to ourselves. They didn't even hesitate to take the twins, claiming they'd fight over who gets to feed who first. Art and I were too tired to argue.

Sev and Luc led us through the forest behind the castle, the very place we spent mate day together. But tonight, it's different. There's something glowing in the air—tiny enchanted lanterns hanging from trees, soft mist curling over the grass. Magic hums through the air like a lullaby.

In the clearing, there's a soft blanket laid out under the stars, a little table of food, and four glasses of sparkling applefire cider. And then Luc clears his throat, looking nervous in a way I've only seen a few times before.

Luc's POV

I take a breath. I've prepared this a hundred times in my head, but looking at Ric and Art in front of me—all sleepy smiles, their hands still loosely linked—I feel my voice catch.

"I thought for a long time about how to say this," I begin, glancing at Sev beside me. "But nothing felt big enough, or deep enough. So I'm just going to say it plain."

I turn to Ric first, brushing my fingers against his.

"Ric... I love you. Through everything—the panic, the laughter, the tears—you've shown me strength and softness I didn't know I needed. And Art," I turn to him too, "you ground us. You've helped me find pieces of myself I didn't know were missing."

I take both of their hands in mine.

"I want to bond with both of you. To be yours in every magical, emotional, and spiritual way. I want to belong to you—both of you—and I want you to belong to me. Forever."

Ric lets out a quiet, choked breath, and Art is already crying. But before either of them can say anything, Sev steps forward.

Sev's POV

"My turn," I say quietly, my voice thick with emotion.

I reach for Ric and Art, touching their joined hands with mine. "I never expected this. Any of it. I never thought I'd feel loved like this—by two people who see every broken part of me and love me harder for it."

"Ric... you light up places in my soul that had gone cold. You're fire and warmth and survival. And Art... you bring me peace. You make me want to be softer, better, more human."

I step closer. "I don't want to be bonded to just one of you. I want to be bonded to both of you. I want all of us to be bound together. One bond. One soul. One future."

Arthur's POV

I don't even realize I'm crying until Ric brushes a thumb across my cheek. His other hand squeezes mine tight, and we both nod at the same time.

"Yes," Ric whispers.

"Yes," I echo. "To both of you. To all of us."

Narration

The bond request isn't sealed with rings or a kiss. It's sealed with the four of them huddled together under the stars, wrapped in each other's arms, breathing in each other's magic. A quiet vow spoken not with words, but with warmth.

Later, Sev conjures four bonding charms—two interlocking stars, and two matching heartstones. When worn together, they glow softly with shared magic, flickering gently in time with each other's heartbeat.

They spend the rest of the night laughing, eating, and curled up in a pile of tangled limbs and whispered promises. The stars watch silently above them, bearing witness to the beginning of something whole.
