It was pretty cool being part the band. Since I've never really felt like I belonged to my family or my friends for that matter, it was nice to feel like I belonged to the band.
We practiced every weekend covering songs by Sleeping with Sirens, Coldplay, The Killers, Simple Plan, All Time Low, The Beatles, and of course 5SOS among other great bands. We even got to do a couple of talent shows in our neighborhood. We loved to perform so we really weren't in it for the money. When we weren't rehearsing, doing talent shows, or cramming in our college summer work, we were up to our regular 'teenage kicks'.
"Let's go out" I said lazily dangling off the side of the couch
"Like where?" Deli said
"Movie?" Bex said playing with her hair
"And see what Bee? We just saw Captain America last week, and the Disney movie doesn't come out for another month"
"How's about we go to the arcade, my trigger hand's getting itchy" Lolly joked, I laughed
"Not going to lie, my hands have been kind of lonely since Landon took my guitar to get it painted" I joked "And besides I got a hankering for some DDR" I say picking up my keys. "Let's go".
After freshening up we pilled into my mustang and headed to the nearest Game Works. Once we pulled out our game cards we immediately headed to the Dance Dance Revolution machines.
"So how are we going to do this?" I asked
"Teams?" Lolly said
"Fam v. Friends?" I asked
"How about me and Lolls v you and Bex?" Deli suggested
"I'm down with that" Lolls smirked
"You're just happy because Del's a good dancer" I shot
"And you're just mad cause team Malum is going to kick your butts" Deli taunted, sticking her tongue out playfully once she took her place on the platform
"So that's how this is gonna go" I said shooting Bex a knowing look as we fist-bumped
"Try not to cry too much when team Lashton comes out on top" Beckie taunted taking her place on the stand
Sad to say but team Malum was in the lead after the first round, when Deli did that dropdown, I was impressed, but you know I couldn't let her win so even though I'm a terrible dancer, I took my place on the platform.
"Let's get this beef" Lolls taunted
"Grade A certified all day" I joked psyching myself up as the game started
It was a close call but, it ended in a tie.
"Rematch, loosers buy ICEEs for everybody" Lolly challenged
"How about skeeball?" I suggest
"I'm down" Del co-signed
"Sounds good let's do it" Bex said just as my tele buzzed
"Yay" I screeched "Landon's done with my guitar, I got to pick it up before he goes to work" I say placing the device in my pocket
"You got lucky" Lolly jokes as I laugh
On the way to Landon's house we past the historic building called The Forum.
"Ooooh open mic night, let's do it" Beckie shouts
"Yeah, we've been working on 'VooDoo Doll' we can do that" Lolly says as I rub my shoulder remembering the fatality of concert night
"That's a great idea 'Lita c'mon Annie PWEEEESEE" Deli pleaded
