"RETRO GAME NIGHT!!!" I shouted nostalgia filling my voice as I ran over to my Nintendo 64 system.
"Let's do this!" Lolly shouted hopping onto the couch
"Get ready to lose" Deli taunted grabbing a controller
"You do NOT want any of this Dee" I taunted back
"Now I know you're not starting without me" Beckie said placing a plate of nachos on the coffee table
Once I blew the cartridge I turned on the teli, the start-up sounds began to blare through the speakers.
"AAAGGGHH!" Del screeched reaching for the remote "Finally" she said once the room was quiet.
"Well since it's retro night how about we play some throwback game tunes" I say playing Linkin Park's 'Hybrid Theory' album.
"Nice" Beckie said hi-fiving me as I took my place amongst my fellow gamers
"I wonder if we got any favorites on our 5SOS cover?" I ask
"I think maybe one or two, I tagged 5SOS in it" Deli replied
"I wonder if the boys saw it" Beckie questions
"Imagine if they did..." Deli said
"I wonder what they would say" Lolly say
MEANWHILE:
"That was a pretty good cover of 'VooDoo Doll' don't you guys think?" Luke asks looking at the photos in his twitter feed the band took with the fans the night before
"Yeah it was cool, I was taken away by the way the purple streaked guitarist played, and she was cute too" Michael smiled cheekily
"Now that you mention it, the bass player was kinda cute" Calum said
"The drummer had pretty eyes" Luke says "What did you think of the performance Ash?" He said turning to a Mr. Irwin who was deep into his song-writing
"Huh?" he replied
"The performance last night, what did you think?" Luke pressed
"Oh, it was great, the singer looked kind of nervous at first but she's kinda hot though" he replied returning back to his writing.
"I wish we could've congratulated them in person" Luke says
WITH THE GIRLS:
"I am the PokeMASTER!" I shout completing the level of the game "Just call me Mrs. Ketchum cause I'm catching them all tonight!" I said happy dancing while the next level loaded.
"Awe you're childhood dream came true" Deli jokes
"Now that's just cold" I laugh shaking my head "Who wants next? I'm going to go change the CD" I offered when Beckie raised her hand, I surrendered the controller and made my way over to the stereo
"You are, my fire, the one desire..." the stereo played as the girls squealed in nostalgia
"Oh my gosh this song" Deli said
"Right" I said grabbing a nacho
One thing led to another a before you know it it retro game night turn into terrible karaoke night real quick. It wasn't long after that when a complaint was filed by my mother and we were forced to take our shenanigans into my room.
"Ouch" I said picking myself up from the staircase
"How did you not see that step Al" Del said giggling
"Hey, don't judge, I didn't have my glasses on" I shot back regaining my footing laughing
"Looks like 'Mrs. Ketchum' can catch everything but her footing" Beckie joked I'm never going to hear the end of this
"Ya know, it's amazing I don't have more scars, as many klutz-y moves I do on a daily basis" I say popping in the DVD 'Monster's Inc.' "I don't know how you guys convinced me to watch this sad movie" I said curling up into my comforter
"How is this movie sad" Deli asked
"You know, they get banished, Boo gets kidnapped etc etc" I replied
"Oh my gosh girl you are so sensitive" Deli replied
The following morning after a hard study session the gang decided to head to the Santa Monica pier. While Del, Bex and 'Lita were all dressed in typical beach attire while I on the other hand, with my crazy allergies, chose a different attire. I donned a black and grey ty-dye shirt, a pair of capri shorts, an old pair of vans from my freshman year, and my Hemmings '96 hat I wore backwards.
"Dude it's so bright!" Deli exclaimed breaking through the crowds of people I can't see a thing, even with my glasses on.
"Let's hit the arcade" Bex offers
"Sounds like a plan, it's too many people out here anyways" I say shimmy-ing trough the crowd. "Ahh I'm home" I sigh once I make it inside the arcade
"How's about that DDR rematch" Lolly says gesturing to the machine
"You are so on" Bex and I say a smile creeping slowly on our faces
"Yes! I finally beat you" I say happy dancing around the machine as team Lashton celebrates.
In mid dance however, I crash into someone, knocking off my hat.
"Sorry" I quickly say turning reaching for my hat when I'm met by a familiar site.
That bandana
"Here you go" the man said handing me the hat
"Thank you" I say smiling sweetly, searching the person's body until I met with the brightest set of hazel eyes I'd ever seen.
The group went silent
