I didn't see much of Deli or Beckie that week. With them being all hyped up with love, they spent a lot of time with Cal and Luke, which left Me, Lolls, Ash and Mike to bond. We went go kart racing, hit the gym, and of course played video games.
It was Saturday and Lolly got stuck baby-sitting again so it was just me, Ash and Mike.
"Going on a Starbucks run, anyone want anything?" Ash asked
"No, thanks" Mike said, eyes glued to his game of Midnight Run
"I'm good" I said
"Alright, I'll bring you something anyway 'cause every time you say you don't want any you end up eating like all the caramel from my frappuccino" He joked
"Whatever, bye Ash" I laughed as he walked out the door.
"Oh Ashton, I love you, I want to bear your curly haired children" Michael joked in a girl voice
"Michael Gordon Clifford, you slay me" I said with heavy sarcasm.
"Oh like you haven't thought about it" He shot
"I mean, maybe, one day, not for a while though, but what about you and Lolly huh? What do you plan to do about that?" I shot back
It was just recently at a gym session when he confessed to me that he had a thing for Lolly. I knew that Lolly had a thing for him too so I was wondering what was taking so long for them to get together.
"Oh I've a got plan" he said assuredly
"Which would be?..."
"Ask her out?" he replied not so surely. My face almost instantly hit the palm of my hand
"Oh my that's a big plan you've got there" I said sarcasm once again staining my voice "How have you not thought this through?"
"Well it's not like I haven't thought it through, it's just I feel like I'm going nowhere"
"What do you mean?" I asked
"I try to make subtle hints , but I think she thinks I'm just giving her playful banter so she plays along but it's not for long. It's like a game of red light green light and I'm at the worlds' longest red light. Can a man get a green light over here?" he sighed as he threw his head back on the couch.
"KISS!" I shouted, prompting Michael to look in confusion at me. "Keep. It. Simple. Silly, ask her to pizza or something"
"Do you think it'll work?" he asked
"For sure, and if need be, I will personally see to it that she agrees, but honestly who's going to say no to pizza"
"You're the best Allie, thanks" He replied as the game reloaded
'Hey, no worries, real fans save bands right?" I laughed, but I was dead serious, although they're still my favorite band, they're my friends now and I'm a good friend so of course I was wiling to help Mikey
As if on cue Lolly texted me
Lolly Cobain: I'M FREE!!!! Where are you?
Me: w Mike
Lolly Cobain: be there in 20
"Here's your shot Mike, she'll be here in twenty, so how are you going to do it? Remember, keep it simple." I stated
He took his time with the reply, probably trying to think of just the right thing to say. But when he finally replied it was a confident.
"Yeah"
