I brought the mustang to a screeching halt in Deli's driveway, searching for signs of Layla's appearance. We zipped out of the car as Deli opened the door. Lolls, Bex, and I stripped off our shoes and immediately made our way to Deli's guestroom, which might as well have been my room since I've spent most of my free time at her house, to feign sleep. Deli quickly made herself look like she'd been home all night and sat on the couch awaiting my sister's text.
*buzz buzz*
Deli opened the door to Laya who was a bit too loud for 2am.
"Hush, Lay it's 2am and the girls are asleep in the other room" she whisper-yelled to her.
"My bad" Layla whispered back as Deli led her to her room that was a close one.
Later that morning I was awakened to the sound of Blake Shelton and the smell of breakfast meats. I woke the girls and we freshened up with the extra clothes we had in my trunk.
"What cha cooking" I asked Layla once I made my way to the living area which was next to the kitchen
"Bacon and egg whites" Layla replied turning the bacon strips
"Coolness" I said taking my place among the rest the girls on the couch
"Hey Dee, I was thinking of doing a barbeque later what do think?" Layla asked
"Sounds cool" Deli replied
"Cool I'll probably head to the store to pick up the ribs and stuff in like thirty minutes, after I eat breakfast"
"Speaking of which, what happened with you and Calum last night, Ms 30 minutes or less, it was starting to get cannibal in there" Lolly asked loud enough for Deli to hear but low enough so Layla couldn't
"Nothing" Deli said, eyes directed at the kitchen
"Really, then how come you're avoiding eye contact then hmm" I instigated
"Girl Lay's talking about ribs so all I see is that kitchen..." Deli said excusing herself to the kitchen to make herself a plate. The girl loved herself some ribs.
"mmmmhmm" I said accusingly, laughing
"I wouldn't be laughing right now Al seeing as you and Ashton disappeared to his room for a long while last night" Beckie shot
"OOOOHHHH" Lolly instigated "What happened with you and Ashton huh" she pressed. I felt heat rush to my cheeks and my lips immediately began to tingle
"Bacon you say?" I said excusing myself to the kitchen.
I threw some bacon on my plate made my way back to the couch, crunching on a bacon strip, turning on The Price is Right.
"Are you seriously not going to tell us what happened?" Lolly asked
"There's nothing to tell" I say as Deli takes her spot on the couch with her plate
"So what did happen with you and Calum?" I instigate
"Nothing, we just got to know each other better, the pizza joint was backed up" Deli responds nonchalantly
"Last night was pretty fun" Beckie admits
"Yeah I'm glad we went" I add
"Went where?" Layla asks joining us. We each look at each other for a bail out but to no avail until Deli says
"The arcade yesterday, she finally beat me in DDR"
"Oh ok" she says taking a spoonful of egg whites "Is that all you did? Play video games?" she asked
