"Hi.... (Y/N)." Gi-hun responds back, unsure what else to say other than the words sorry. But he knew now was not the time.Meanwhile Jun-ho stepped aside letting (Y/N) fully see Gi-hun, who stood behind him, watching the two reunite. He had hoped that maybe Gi-hun could convince his niece to be able to help them to expose whoever's responsible for the organization of the games. Even if him and (Y/N) already knew who that was, Gi-hun didn't have to know that part. For now anyways. Looking between the men, (Y/N) could tell they were up to something. Especially if they are both associated with each other, that could only be one thing. The games.
She looked back at Jun-ho, almost in disgust. "Are you both working together?" She asked.
Heavily Jun-ho sighed, knowing how his niece was going to react "Yes." He admitted.
(Y/N) turned her head back at Gi-hun, wanting to yell at him to let the past be. But why should she? (Y/N) had never let the past die, so how could she be the one to judge? Knowing Gi-hun, he probably went along with Jun-ho to find the island, and to search for the captain. That's when a thought hit her, did Gi-hun know the relationship between her and him? Especially with her uncle, who stood right next to her? He has to know. That's why he's here, isn't it? (Y/N) assumed, until Jun-ho spoked.
"Since seeing you both are the only survivors. I thought maybe you wanted help." Jun-ho finally said.
"You're fucking kidding me." (Y/N) mutters underneath her breath, knowing damn well the number of times she'd told him the answer NO. "I said no the first time. Why would I change my mind?"
Men really don't understand the word no these days.
Jun-ho looked towards Gi-hun, hoping he would say something that would influence (Y/N) to help them. Yet all he got was a worried look and hesitation to even speak a word to player 026, again. He wanted to speak badly, but the words he had in his voice would just come out as a stutter. It was obvious (Y/N) was still mad at him, with each glare she gave him, just reminded him back when they both were arguing after the glass game.
"Save your breath, Gi-hun. I don't want to hear you persuading me before, an apology, first." (Y/N) Bitterly said before walking off.
(Y/N) headed back home, she received some messages from Jeong-suk, although it was of no importance to her. The next day came along, (Y/N) already dreading getting out of her bed, knowing what today was. Her mother's death anniversary. Remembering her empowerment, her resilience, and most importantly, her caring for others. (Y/N) wonder what she would be like today?
Then a thought crossed her mind. What would Mr. Wang be like now? He'd probably still be teaching. Although, would he be proud of how far she had came along? Sae-byeok? The two likely become like friends, hanging out late at night. With Ali, they'll keep in touch, making sure each other are still doing well. Lastly, with Sang-woo, there was no doubt he would constantly remind her to study. He'd probably even ambush (Y/N) co-worker, if he'd known about the harassment.
All those wonders and what-ifs, washed away once coming back to reality.
"I'll never know." (Y/N) told herself, before noticing the time was five thirty pm.
(Y/N) hadn't realized, she'd almost spent the whole day rotting in bed without a care in the world. Much as she wanted to stay lying down, her body forcibly got itself ready to head for the closet. That was until her phone finally rang. Catching her off guard, knowing nobody usually calls her. Assuming it must be Jeong-suk, she grabbed her phone, noticing it was someone else.
Mr. Absent
Calling....
He kept the same number? (Y/N) would be lying to say she'd assume he had changed numbers years ago. Now feeling like an idiot, this entire time she could have called him, especially all those Paragraphs of messages she'd had sent to him when she was younger. Yet (Y/N) was surprised he was actually reaching out to her. Considering the last time they spoke wasn't so pleasant. She answered the call, pulling the phone up to her ear, before uttering the words "Hello."
