New Beginnings

And so, as Christmas morning began, my journey had just begun. I started out as a girl who I thought was perfect, and had no problems at all. Then, came the mistakes. The compromises. As my dad once told me, 'We create our own demons.' As promised, my dad took me to SHIELD and sorted things out, with my new ability. Now, I will change and become a better person. I will not tell everyone what my secret is, so, I won't hurt the ones I love. So, is where to wrap this up, tie it with a bow, or whatever... I guess I'd say my abilities were never in my way or a distraction, it was a cocoon. And now, I'm a changed girl, woman, whatever I want to call myself, I can make it through anything and anyone on my own. You can take away my house, all my tricks, and toys. One thing you can't take away... I am Firestone.

A year later

I walked into SHIELD. Everyone stared at me and walked away. I wasn't really ready to go to work today. For a girl who been through so much, I think I ended up, well, okay. I walked and saw Nat and Elena.

"Hello Beautiful," Nat said hugging me.

"Hello there bestie." Elena laughed and hugged me as well.

"Hi there my friendly agents!" And we walked to the cafeteria.

"So, I heard." Nat told me while taking a bite out of her cookie.

"Heard what?" I asked her.

"Your new ability, duh!" Elena gently pushed me.

"Oh, yeah. Fury said it was called Sonic scream, something like that." I told them. I took a sip of my soda.

"Agent Stark to Director Fury's office, as soon as possible." Said the intercom. Elena and Nat looked at me. I got up from my seat and walked out. When I got to his office, I stood outside thinking about what he'll say.

"Nick!" I happily said. He turned around. Is he angry? Is he okay?

"Crystal, how's it been here?" I raised my eyebrow. "I mean, you want a few more weeks off?" I thought about it.

"If I say, I do-"

"Capitan Rogers, will come and check on you." Steve? "He volunteered."

"He did?" He nodded. "Well then, I guess, I'll have a few weeks off." I smiled.

"Crystal, take it easy, will you?"

"Sure thing Fury."
