Everyone has a character that saves the day, but apart from not being able to stand the fact that they get away with everything, I can't stand it when people make their characters so needy and reliant.
You know, like a damsel in distress all the frikkin' time! Especially when they get dumped and become zombies for a good while *cough cough* Twilight *cough cough*
Also, when creating a dystopian story with a messed up society (or even a great society), don't leave it at that and not give an explanation as to how it got that way. People wonder, you know.
