"Who brought you here?" I asked Esther

"I did," he said.

There he was, the man that would always have my heart. He was standing there in the flesh, speaking to me. My heart fluttered when he spoke and it was like really seeing him for the first time.

"Nik!" I ran into his arms

"I've missed you so much? How are you here?"

"You know how there can't be an imbalance of nature, well Tyler gave a hybrid life for the resurrection of one," he explained

"What do you mean?"

"Tyler killed himself," Klaus looked away from me

"I'm so glad you're home," I held him in my arms

"You're getting married?" He sounded hurt

"You must understand, I didn't think you were coming home," I explained

"I do, well what're you going to do now that I am home? You couldn't possibly want a life with a human more than with me," he said

"I obviously want to be with you but I love Ethan too," I said

"Oh," he pulled away from me

"Now that you're home, why did you take Esther?"

"I had to make a grand entrance, love," he smirked

"Esther?"

"Yes Mommy," she turned away from the doll and looked at Klaus and I

"Who do you want Mommy to marry? Daddy or Ethan?" I asked because her opinion matters most

"Can Daddy stay with us and then I decide?" She asked

"Of course," I said as I stood up

"Alright, let's go home," I announced

Klaus picked up Esther and we started walking towards the front door but then I remembered Rachel.

"Nik, where's Rachel?"

"She's at home, I compelled her to go home and forget," he said nonchalantly

"Esther doesn't know about that stuff," I whispered

"Why not?"

"I want to wait until she's older and can better understand," I said

"You don't think six is old enough?"

"No," I said sternly

"I've missed you and your controlling self," he kissed my forehead.

Later on that evening, Ethan made a surprise visit. We were in the middle of dinner when I heard a knock at the door, Nik came rushing behind me.

"Hey Ethan," I tried to sound normal

"I just wanted to talk to you about wedding stuff, can I come in?" He asked moving towards the door

"No," I said quickly

"Um, I have a guest over," I explained

"So you're Ethan?" Nik was towering over him

"Yes, who are you?"

"I don't know if Care told you, but I am Niklaus Mikealson her fiancé that was gone but now I'm back," Nik smiled at Ethan

"I thought you said he was dead,"

"Well that's what we thought but I guess he's not," I laughed nervously

"What's going on here?"

"If you're going to ask me to choose, Esther and I are working on it. Give me some time," I told him

" Esther and I?" He repeated

"Yes, my daughter plays an important role in decision making. It's only been us for a while so when I make decisions it's for the both of us," I said with a little more sass than intended

"She's obviously going to choose her father," he gestured his hand towards Nik

"Ethan I cannot have this conversation with you right now," I said in an exhausted tone

"I'm going to make this easier, we don't have to have it at all," Ethan said

"Ethan no, Klaus is the father of my child and the man I loved but now I love you. I want to marry you," I pleaded

"I came to tell you that the venue is available this Saturday or if we don't want it so soon, we can wait until next year,"

"This Saturday sounds perfect."
