Nik arrived in the bedroom, shortly after me. I figured this is his house so I'd sleep in the guest room.

"I heard what you said about me," my back was turned towards him

"I'm sorry Care, she wanted to-" I interrupted him

"I'm not scolding you," I said

"Then what're you doing?" He moved closer to where I was standing

"I'm still deciding," I sighed "I don't want hurt anyone with my decision," I was looking at him now

"You're bound to hurt someone but just don't choose the wrong thing to spare anyone's feelings," he said as he placed a hand in my face.

I remembered now how much I missed his touch, I took a deep breath. His hands sent a sensation down my spine. I felt as though I might melt right then and there.

"I'm just confused, this is what I wanted. I wanted you and I wanted a family, and I have it. So why is it now that I have what I wanted, I choose something different?" I stepped away

"Do you hear the word you're using? Wanted, as in past tense. So maybe I'm not what you want anymore," he almost whispered

"I do want you, I've wanted you since the night I dreamt of you. You have always intrigued me," I told him

"I can't play this game with you Caroline, you need to choose because I can't keep wondering. I know it's been two years but do you remember that I am in love with you? I'm not just Esther's father and I didn't leave because I wanted to, I left because I couldnt imagine a world without you! That's like asking me to breathe in a room filled with vervain, it burns my throat and lungs. I know I told you I'd wait for you, even if you didn't choose me but I can't do that, I can't pretend that it won't kill me inside," he looked drained of all energy

I didn't say a word, I just ran into his arms. I held him in my arms, it was the best feeling in the world. Just to be right there with him made my heart stop for a moment.

I peered from behind the door, the venue was filled with people. Both my parents were here in spirit, and I knew they were smiling. My heart raced as the music began, the ceremony was starting.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down the aisle in their peach colored dresses and their black and teal tuxedos. Esther was standing beside me in a white dress with a teal now in the front, in her flowers basket she held peach flower petals.

As the wedding march began, Esther held onto my hand as we walked down the aisle. Klaus was sitting in the front row, he respected my decision but he looked beaten down. My heart ached for him, poor soul.

The priest said important stuff and then asked us to repeat after him.

"I, Ethan take thee, Caroline to be my lawfully wedded wife until death do us part," Ethan repeated

"I, Caroline take thee, Eth-" I stopped.
