The impact is not how they describe it.

It feels ten times more painful.

My legs felt like they were at the mercy of a great white shark, my lower torso felt like it was completely off my body, and there was flames licking my arms and face. I had a moment of confusion, then I screamed a blood curling scream.

I was going to die.

But then the door was kicked open, and I saw two people take hold of my legs, then my waist, until I was finally out of the car and out into the cold rainy day.

Ray was carrying me in his arms, but his face kept on swirling around my head, the sound of people screaming my name fading into a buzz. I was set down on the wet road and my arms felt much better.

"Nat, oh, Nat," Ray whispered, holding my head. I couldn't do anything. My body was a limp waste of flesh that I had not control of, and Ashton was sobbing next to me, while Carter was laying a few feet away from me.

"Nat, can you hear me?" Ray asked, and I wanted to tell him that I did, but I couldn't, because I was broken.

"Natalie, answer me!" he screamed, sobbing into my hair, but I was broken.
