Chapter 10: Her Song

CJ received an email from Raffie regarding the coming workshop for new artists from both

managements. The studio implements a strict attendance when it comes to this kind of training. Paix

got one, too from Garrie.

He saw her coming right away. She was wearing a white polo shirt with skinny denims, hair in a loose

bun, sans make-up. Paix was mesmerized with her face, hair, clothing, everything! She was wearing

her Rayban shades which hides her eyes. " Can she see me looking at her, too?". Paix asked himself

nervously.

CJ immediately saw Paix even from far away. She admits that he is very attractive but she's still

reeling over his accusation weeks ago that almost put her in jail. She wanted to take another route

but it was too late. " I need to be civil to him otherwise, we 'll attract attention, " CJ told herself.

Paix walked towards her as if to welcome her but CJ just went past him after saying a curtly " Hello!"

He couldn't believe just what happened to him. Good thing that the walkway is still empty of other

artists. Paix is not expecting her to work with him in this one. But both of them are wrong. They ended

up working together.

Two people are watching them. " I was right. They're not friends nor enemies.''

The second part of the workshop required them to present a talent that the public isn't aware of.

CJ whispered to the assistant. A few minutes later, a guitar was given to her. She finger combed her

hair and started strumming and singing... an original composition. She sings and everyone stopped.

Her quality of voice is not that of other singers who can sing at the top of their lungs. Hers is soft but

touches your inner soul. The voice of an angel, Paix thought.

She sang about someone

"...I wish every night and mornin'

that I will see your face again.

So I can tell you that I love you

And hug you before you go..."

Paix noticed a trickle of tear dropped on her white shirt but no one noticed it. Everyone is glued to

that tall girl singing with her guitar.

That song hit something... in his heart. He felt that he wanted to look after this tall girl who sings from

her heart. The production assistants present that day made a similar discovery: that CJ doesn't only

do catwalks and billboards but can actually carry a tune... very well. That day, someone decided that

it's worth it sending her to a voice lesson coach to develop what she already got. When CJ got that

news, she wasn't sure if she'll like this new opportunity or not. But at the end, she decided to jump in

the water, with eyes wide open.
