Chapter 69: Realigning Fate

CJ was extremely overwhelmed with sense of guilt when she learned about the truth.

As months went on, CJ was sent hundreds and hundreds of documents via Fedex that she needed to read, understand, and sign. But the dizzying pace of the changes in her life is augmented with the peace that she felt as she gets updates on Paix's well- being.. She now knows that Paix memory has come back.

 When she finalized everything, she made the biggest decision on her life so far, which determined her wish to go back to the Philippines. It took her about a year to  finish her commitments

On the night of their departure from Canada, CJ spoke to Tyler and Maddie.

"You both know the recent developments in our lives. We are the Galloways and we own the biggest entertainment industry in the Philippines. But I want you to remain the same Tyler and Maddie. Don't let that wealth enter you hearts and soul, otherwise, we'll end up like the Sorianos."

Maddie spoke. "Don't worry CJ. We experienced a lot being the Bretts, as regular children and we are happy living ordinary lives. We promise to remain that way.''

"That's right CJ."

I'm so proud of both of you. I love you both." CJ hugged her siblings and thanked God for all the blessings He showered them despite the absence of their parents.

Paix was told about the 4 months that CJ, Maddie, and Tyler stay in Batanes with him. He felt regretful that he wasn't himself when it happened. But at the same time, he was thankful that he was not well because he's not sure what he coild have done  out of desperation to get CJ back again.

The days that followed were difficult for Paix as he was retracing all his heartaches and burdens in life. But he also understood that this is his second chance in life. He felt an obligation to turn his life back up again after learning CJ's efforts to get him well. "I know that she still wants the best for me despite what happened between us in the past. She is moving on with her life and she wants me to do the same by getting better first." Paix felt his heart breaking just thinking that CJ will be married... or is she married this time?''

At the end, Paix finally decided to quit showbiz all together and start a new life in Batanes, where all the happiest moments in his life started. He never reconsidered in his mind that CJ will ever return to the Philippines to continue what George Galloway built over the years, the Galloway Enterprises.

But she is.

When all the transfers were completed, CJ boarded PAL to take her back to the country that remained closest to her heart, despite her plan never to return there again.
