Janines's P.O.V.

1167

I woke up to then sun blazing through the window, the white curtains were open, letting the sunbeams hit the white bedsheets and light up the room with natural light. I had been in this hospital room for about a week now, and Christian had been visiting me multiple times a day. I couldn't understand how, but something about him made every nerve in my body itch and scream for him to touch me. I had woken up many nights after having dreamt about his colloused hands, wrapped around me.

It scared me that he was so adamant on staying close to me, though it made me feel secure as well, safe.

When it came to my memories, some had come back, though it had only bin bits and pieces. I could now remember a redheaded girl repeated times through my childhood, and I could even remember meeting Christian. I don't remember everything, only the moment when our eyes met, and a few words and moments we had exchanged since we met.

Christian didn't know, no one knew, and I wanted to keep it that way. I had dreamt about monsters, about beasts who could turn into humans. I had dreamt that Christian was one of them, and that was the most terrefying thought. Because what if he actually was? Could someone as sweet as Christian turn into a humongus beast, with long canines, claws and fur?

A knock sounded on the door, pulling me away from my thoughts, and in came one of the nurses. The nurses here were the sweetest and everyone were so happy and welcoming. They all treated me as if I were royalty, something I tried to tell them not to do, though no one seemed to listen.

"Oh good, you're awake!" The nurse, Cassie said. "How are you doing? Any memories coming back to you?" Cassie was one of the regulars, she came to check on me a few times a day, bringing me food and other things I needed for my stay. She was amazingly nice, but sometimes she could be overly honest and that always resulted in someone arguing with her, and me listening to her gossip about them at the end of the day.

"No" I tried to smile, though I knew that it didn't quite reach my eyes.

"Are you alright sweetie?" Cassie asked. I gave her an assuring nod and wiped my thumb under my eye, waiting for a tear to fall.

"I just-- I still don't understand how I could forget about so many people. I'm ... and I can't remember anything from my life!" tears spilled from my eyes as my frustration came to life once again.

"Shhh, it's okay. Everything's going to be okay" Cassie sat down on next to me on the bed. Her hand clamped around mine and she smiled reasurringly. "I'll go get you some food, alright'?" I nodded in reply and made myself more comfortable on the hard ho

spital matress.

Cassie came in a few minutes later with breakfast and I groaned at the sight of it. Hospital food really wasn't my forté.

Cassie laughed when she saw me staring at the food in disgust.

"Would've thought you'd get used to it by now" she said and I shook my head, unable to look up from the green, slimey-looking mash of potatos. "Well, you're probably happy that you'll be let out soon then." This made me snap my head up to look at her, my eyes wide.

"What?" I asked breathlessly.

"This is your last day, has no one told you yet?" I shook my head and Cassie frowed. "Hmm. I think your boyfriend is coming to pick you up later" Her eyes gleamed at the thought of seeing Christian again. I swear, she was more excited than me, and I'm supposed to be his girlfriend.

"Why are you so excited to see him?" I teased. "He's supposed to be my boyfriend."

"Well, sweetcheeks. You've got a good piece of eyecandy. I mean, just thinking about those abs you can so clearly see through his shirt, and his muscular arms. And I've even caught a glimpse of his amazing V-line which leads straight to his probably big --"

"Okay!Okay!" I covered my ears with my hands, closing my eyes at the same time. Something about that dreamy look in Cassies eyes unnerved me. Okay, Christian is a hot guy, and he's got a lot of appealing features, but I couldn't stand listening to someone go on and on about him, making my heart ache.

I had been sitting alone in the hospital room for a few hours before another knock sounded on the door. Cassie left quite quickly, having to get back to her job.

"Come in" I said and sat myself upright in the bed. Christian came in, a bright smile on his lips. "Hi" I said.

"Hi. I'm guessing that they've told you that you're free to go home?" he rubbed his neck as he spoke, averting his eyes from mine. I nodded, nervous in his presence. "Have you packed your stuff?" Again, I nodded. Cassie had helpe me pack it just before she left, leaving her phone number for me to call her so we could hang out, once I was out.

"Good" he nodded his head. "Shall we go? I've already checked you out"

"Yeah" I answered. "Let me just get changed". I was still in that stupid hospital gown and wanted nothing else than to get out of it. I hurriedly changed into a pair of black tights, a navy green sweater and black Doc. Martins Boots.

As I got out of the bathroom Christian greeted me with another one og his heartbreaking smiles as he looked me up and down.

"Ready?" he asks and I smile as I give him a nod. "Let's go then"
