Meghan's POV
"Hurry up Meg! Your going to be late!" My mom yelled.
"Coming!"
I ran to the door and drove to the school.
I arrived at the school. I jumped out of the car. School hadn't started yet, just people running around and hanging out. I walked in awkwardly, trying to not be seen. I found a corner in the huge court. No one was in that area and it was pretty dark, so I sat down there.
I opened my book, 'the book thief'.
"Finally. Peace and quiet" I said to myself. I read a few chapters.
There was still an hour till school, so I had time.
"Uh, why are you here?" I heard a familiar voice say.
"Why me" I said to myself.
I know, kind of mean. At home there's no quiet. My mom constantly pressuring me, my brother always doing pranks on me and weird noises just to annoy me. It was like a vacation to be alone.
"What do you want?" I said.
It was so dark I couldn't really make out who it was.
I finally saw who was standing a few feet away from me. It was Charlie. Charlie, the person texting me non stop. Not that it's annoying, it's cool.
"Oh, I didn't know it was you" I said while getting up and walking to him.
"It's cool".
"Well, care to join me?" I said.
"I guess so" he replied.
We sat down next to each other. I gotta say, he's handsome. Maybe I had a small feel for him, but i just have to see what happens.
"So, what do you like to do for fun?" Charlie blurted.
"Um, does reading count?" I replied.
"There's got to be something you love except books?" Charlie laughed.
"Well, I am pretty good at football." I said.
Charlie looked at me with a by of confused face.
"I know, girls are not for football." I said, kind of looking down.
"No no, I think that's cool. A girl should follow her dreams" Charlie said, kind of stuttering.
"Don't act like your not confused."
"I'm not confused."
It as silent for a few minutes. The bell went off, startling both of us.
Emmys POV (very short)
I looked around for meghan. It was lunch. She always waits for me at our favorite table. And that didn't happen today.
"Hey Emmy. I can't sit with you today, I made this new friend and I am gonna sit with them. Bye" Meghan texted me.
I sat at a random table.
"Who's your friend?" I texted back, being curious.
"Charlie puth" she replied.
"Cool" I texted before putting my phone down and eating.
Something doesn't seem right.
Charlie's POV
Meghan and I laughed and talked. It was like a dream to have some one like her. I was still laughing for some reason.
"Your cool" Meghan said.
"Why thank you" I replied.
"I was wandering, come to my house tomorrow night?" Meghan said, blushing a bit.
"Sure. There's endless things to talk about" I laughed.
Last class
"Just work in your work books until we have to leave. If you finish, turn in your book on my desk" our teacher said.
I sat next to Meghan. She wrote all the answers down faster than I ever would.
"Wow" I mumbled.
She heard me of course.
"Thanks" she said, laughing a bit.
She got up and turned in her work book. I did the same.
"Hey meg" someone said.
It turned out to be Emmy. I became wide eyed. Why? Because she's my ex girlfriend.
"Uhhhh" Emmy and I said.
"What are you guys doing?" Meghan laughed.
She didn't know. Why wouldn't Emmy tell her?
"Oh nothing" Emmy said with a bit of nervousness in her tone.
"What do you want to talk to me about?" Meghan asked.
"I just wanted to sit next to you".
"Oh," Meghan replied.
It was silent the rest of the thirty minutes we had in class.
Emmy kept looking at me from time to time. I looked away from her when she turned her head to look at me.
"Class dismissed" the teacher yelled.
Emmy faded away into the crowd.
"Well, see you tomorrow Charlie" Meghan said before walking off.
I could tell, Emmy wasn't gonna let things go.
