I woke up to my phone ringing and I grabbed it.

"It better be important," I said in a groggy voice.

"Hey Cam," mom said.

"Mama," I whined.

"Cameron," she mocked me. "Wake up."

"I'm awake now," I said and jumped off the bed.

"Ok, tonight you will come home," she said.

"Ok, why would that be?" I asked and Sam came in and I put my finger to my lips.

"Tonight's game night," she said.

"Ok, I'll be there," I said. "Did you tell Parker and Carter?"

"Yeah," she said. "So you coming?"

"Sure," I said. "I'll be there."

"Ok, love you," She said.

"Love you too," I said and hung up.

"Where are you going?" Sam asked.

"Home," I said. "Family game night."

"Oh family," he said.

"Yep," I said and I looked at my phone. "Damn, class."

I was sitting at the table doing my homework listening to Jake and Braxton argue about mermaids.

"Hey guys," Sam said walking up.

"Hey person," Jake said.

"Hey Cam, you ready for tonight?" Sam asked.

"For what tonight?" Braxton asked.

"She's going home, game night," he saido.

"Family and game night," Jake said. "I'm in."

"Nobody asked if you were in," I said.

"Look don't argue with me, I'm going," he said.

"No you're not," I said and started getting my stuff together. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta get to class." I got up and I walked away.

~

The door opened and Jake walked in, nice, too nice.

"Who's the lucky girl tonight?" I asked sarcastically.

"I'm meeting the Monroe family," Jake said.

"No, you're not," I said.

"Why argue?" He asked. "I'm gonna win, of course."

"You know what? Fine," I said. "But we're taking my car because she'd kill me if she knew I was riding a bike."

"Ok," He said. "Let's go." I grabbed my phone and my keys, we walked out. We got to my car and I started to get in.

"Aw, thanks for opening the door for me," Jake said and getting in.

"Excuse me? This is my car, Jake Parker," I said sternly.

"I don't give a damn, Cameron Monroe," he mocked me, I slammed the door and I breathed in and out.

"Don't let me murder him," I whispered and I walked around and I got in the passenger seat.

"See now how hard was that?" He asked, I looked at him with eyes that could kill. He smirked and winked as he pulled out, I had to fight back the urge not to break his jaw. My house was a little ways away. I was telling him directions as we got to my house, we rode on the interstate and we got back on main roads. We got out and we walked inside. There were looking around my house and I walked to the kitchen seeing mom in her apron.
