From a lonely cold hotel room

A little voice came on the phone
Said "Daddy when you coming home"
He said the first thing that came to his mind

The phone rang about three times before she answered. "Hey bucky I thought it was late there?" Y/n said and out of habit I yawned "I just wanted to say I love you." I spoke quietly and she giggled. "I love you too bucky." She laughed as she said something to our 5 year old daughter who must've asked her a question. "I wanna talk to daddy, can I?" I heard her little voice ask and I felt my heart clench. I missed them so much. I wiped the tears starting to form in my eyes. I have been on a mission, to long of a mission. "Daddy when are you coming home?" My little angel squeaked and my heart swelled as I tried to think of something to sooth her. "I'm already there princess" I spoke trying to reduce the shakiness in my voice. "I'm you're imaginary friend, and I'm in yours and Mommy's prayers. I'm there sweetheart just take a look around." I said trying to console her. "I believe you daddy." She said quietly. "I love you princess" "I love you too daddy." I could tell she was trying to smile.

She got back on the phone
Said I really miss you darling
Don't worry about the kids they'll be alright

"That will have to do" y/n mumbled and I sighed. "Doll I know we are thousand miles apart but I'm already there."
