Chapter 13

I was sitting in Art when Jake came in, followed by an angry Amber.

"What do you mean we're breaking up?!" She yelled in front of everyone. Ugh, drama queen.

"I mean exactly what I said Amber, I probably seem like a jerk but I just don't like you like that. I'm sorry." Jake replied quickly, then making his way over to me. He wrapped his arms around me and I buried my face into his chest. He smelled so good, I don't know what cologne it is, but I love it.

"Morning beautiful." Jake whispered into my ear. Ugh, I love it when he whispers in my ear, it sends shivers through my spine. I didn't reply though, I just hugged him even tighter. It was relaxing being in his arms.

After class, I was walking with Jake when Amber came up to us.

"I would like to talk to you, Kal." She said while grabbing me by the shirt and pulling me away from Jake.

"What do you want Amber?" I asked while looking over at Jake and rolling my eyes.

"Why do you always get the guy Kal? It's not fair!"

"I have a way better personality than you Amber. Guys don't want a stuck up bitch."

"Kal, if we would've stayed friends, you'd be just like me right now."

"Ok, so? The point is I'm not like you and that is why I always get the guy."

"Well, prepare for a hell on earth." Amber said as she walked away angrily. I went back over to Jake.

"What was that about?" Jake asked as he draped an arm over my shoulder.

"Nothing much, she just said she's gonna make my life a hell on earth!" I replied laughing loudly, which caused me to get some weird glances from people.

"Well don't worry about her gorgeous." Jake said as he kissed my cheek tenderly. I really hope we end up together someday. Maybe I'll be able to let him in about things and have him finally be mine.

I was laying on my bed doing homework when I heard Jake's dad start to yell at him.

"You're such a worthless piece of shit! Don't you know that?!" His dad yelled at him while it sounded like he started to throw things.

"Dad please calm down, you're drunk, please?" Jake replied sounding so hurt and helpless. It tore my heart apart hearing him like this. I started to sneak up on them. Jake's dad didn't say anything as he came up to him and started to hit him. Jake silently cried but didn't say anything, he just took it. I started to cry just watching this, I ran back to my room.

A little while later, I heard a quiet knock at my door. I got up and opened my door, I saw Jake standing there looking so broken, and he was crying.

I didn't say anything, I just grabbed him and led him to my bed to lay down with me. I grabbed onto him and hugged him tightly without saying a single word. He just kept on crying and laying in my arms, That's how we fell asleep.

The next day I woke up, and he was gone. I got up and made my way to his room, I opened the door and saw him peacefully sleeping. I went over and laid down with him. He woke up a little bit.

"I'm sorry you had to see me like that last night." He whispered sleepily.

"It's ok, you know I'm there for you." I replied while snuggling up to him.

"I know, I love you for that." The breath got stuck in my throat. Did he just say those three words? Directed towards me??

"Come on, lets get ready for school."

It was lunch time and I was sitting with Jake.

"Hey Kal, look out!" I heard Amber yell. I turned towards her voice, only to be hit with food. The cafeteria broke out in laughter as I sat there embarrassed. Jake grabbed my hand and led me to the bathroom.

"We should go home so you can change." He said quietly, I could tell he was pissed.

"Ok, but since the day is already half over, let's just stay home." He didn't reply as he led me to the front office so we could get excused.

Nobody was home and we were playing hide and seek. Childish, I know. I was currently hiding under my bed and I heard Jake come in.

"I'm gonna get you Kaley, come out, come out wherever you are!"

I stopped breathing so he wouldn't hear me and find me. A couple minutes later, I heard my door open and close. I started to get out from under my bed to make my way to base and be safe. Just as I was about to open my door and run, I got tackled from behind.

"Got you!" Jake yelled victoriously while he had me pinned to the ground.

"Not if I get away!!" I yelled right back while beginning to struggle and get away. We were wrestling and laughing when he just stopped and started kissing me. I didn't stop the kiss, instead I started to get up and lead him to my bed, without breaking the kiss of course.

Things were getting pretty heated and he started to try and make it go further, I started to feel uncomfortable.

"Jake." I tried to say between kisses.

"Yes gorgeous?" He replied while going to my neck.

"Jake, please stop." He stopped right away and looked at me.

"What's wrong?"

"I can't do this right now, I'm sorry." I choked out while running to the bathroom and locking myself in there.

"Kaley, I'm sorry." I heard Jake say on the other side. I ignored him as I glanced around the tiny space. I needed to make myself feel better, the only time I felt completely at ease, was when that razor cut my leg.

I opened a couple of drawers and was so happy when I found that one did indeed hold a razor in it. I sat back on the toilet and gently ran my finger over the sharp side. Excitement boiled up inside me as I brought the razor to my wrist. Once I cut my wrist once, I didn't want to stop. I just kept going and going. Seeing the blood start to spill made me feel so relaxed.

"Kaley? Are you okay? What're you doing in there?" Jake made me stop. I quickly used some toilet paper to wash off the razor and slip it into the back of my jeans.

"I'll be out in a second!" I replied while trying to wash my wrist in the sink. The water made my cuts sting a little, but I didn't mind. I found some band aids in a drawer and put them on, then rolled down my long sleeve, which I'm glad I decided to wear today.

I opened the door and gave Jake a small peck on the cheek, then turned to start walking to my room.

"I think I'm going to take a nap, see you in a little okay?"

"Ok, just call for me if you need anything. Get a good rest Kaley." Jake replied quietly, and he sounded very suspicious. I just hope that I cleaned up the bathroom good.
