On Finding Chance

Part 1 - Chapter 3

Madie was never really interested in dressing up whenever she went to GO.O.D's concert but last year, she was interviewed and she looked like trash. She was running late for the event because she attended a seminar in the province. Traffic was so terrible that she went straight to the concert without fixing herself up. No makeup. No dress. Just a plain black loose shirt, shorts and chucks. She did not want to miss any part of it. Harvey emphasized that she should be there on time or else he would not talk to her for a week. And one thing about him is that he always does what he says he will do.

She made it just on time. The concert went on and as always, the band was incredible. As usual, Madie went backstage to congratulate her brother after the show. To her surprise, a camera was pointed at her and the host started talking to her.

"Hi. I'm Jamie from MuC. I'm here to interview the band and some of their family and friends. Will you be fine in answering a few questions? It will not take long."

Before she could answer a big NO NO, Harvey went to her side and said, "Of course. It is my sister's pleasure. Right baby girl?"

Madie wanted to stab her brother right then and there. He was obviously teasing her. He knew how messy she looked. She was about to ask for a few minutes so she can at least fix her haystack-like hair but Jamie was too pleased to know she was the band leader's sister.

"You are his sister? Madie?" Jamie said.

"Uhm. Yeah?" she answered shyly.

"Wow! Pleasure to finally meet you. Harvey has been talking a lot about you."

"Really???"

"Yes. Most of us fans are dying to know how he is as a brother. Will you share with us some of your moments together?"

"Hmmm...I think I need a day to think about it. Haha. OUCH!!!"

Harvey pinched her cheek and the host and cameraman laughed.

"You two seem really close. Are you always this sweet to each other?"

"Sweet? My brother? You gotta be kidding me. Haha! But seriously, we often argue about petty stuff. Well, I think all siblings do. But no matter how annoyed we are at each other, at the end of the day he always comes to my room and kisses me goodnight."

Madie smiled and hugged her brother.

Harvey looked at her then straight to the camera and said "I love this little kid. She will forever be our baby girl even if she pesters me every day."

"I wish you were also my brother, Harvey. And thank you for the chat, Madie." Jamie said.

With that, Madie's "Earth-swallow-me-now" interview ended.
