Astrid POV

It was a little past midnight when I was awaken from my sleep. I groaned and rolled over on my stomach, throwing the pillow over my head to cover my ears, drowning out the sound that woke me up. I jammed my finger in Hiccup's side waking him up too.

"Its your turn to get up." I groaned. He groaned and I felt him roll over too.

"Why does he always have to cry at this time of the night?" Hiccup whined.

"I don't know, just go put him back to sleep so I can go back to sleep." I took the pillow off my head and rolled on my side to face Hiccup.

"Okay fine." He got up and walked across the room to pick Aaron up. He cradled him in his arms and bounced him soothingly.

"He won't stop crying, usually this works. Maybe he wants his mother." Hiccup said, walking over to me.

"Ugh. Okay I guess I'll get up too." Hiccup handed Aaron over to me and I did everything I could to soothe him. Soon he fell asleep and I laid him back down. I walked back across the room and laid back in bed with Hiccup.

"Who's big idea was it to have a baby?" Hiccup asked.

"Well if I remember right, neither of us had it planned." I rolled over on my back and stared at the celling.

I started thinking about my future and what was to come. I hope to have another kid in a year or two, a little girl I hope. And In a year or two I would also hope Hiccup will finally get used to being chief. I also hope no more invaders visit Berk and that we create peace with most of the tribes.

"What are you thinking about?" Hiccup ask.

"Oh nothing." I reply flopping over on my side, staring into his eyes.

"Are you sure? Because you were pretty deep in thought."

"And how would you know that?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Because you are so cute when you think hard... You get this little crease on your forehead and your nose scrunches up... And I said your name like three times and you never replied."

"Oh... I was just thinking about our future. How things will look in another year or two."

"And what would it look like?"

"Well I'm hoping for another little one, a girl preferably, and for you to be a little more use to being chief, and to have peace with most of the neighboring islands so there are no more invaders." I explain.

"That sounds perfect." He stood up. "I'm going to check on Aaron before we go back to sleep." He walked across the room and leaned over the crib. As he was walking back, his metal foot got temporarily stuck in a small hole in the floor board. He tripped and landed face first on the floor with a loud thump. We both froze, hoping the loud noise didn't wake Aaron up. But of course it did. I couldn't help but laugh at Hiccup.

"Ugh, stupid, useless leg." He complained.

"Hahaha. I can't believe you just did that! Hahaha." I laughed.

"Oh well thanks Astrid. Glad to know you'll never make fun of me." He answered sarcastically.

"I'm sorry. Here, I'll help you put Aaron back to sleep."

I stood up and walked over to them. Hiccup was cradling him, slightly bouncing him up and down trying to soothe him. I stood behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist. I wish this moment could last forever, it was just so perfect.

When we finally soothed Aaron back to sleep, we went back to bed. Hiccup laid on his back and I placed my head on his chest, listening to the rhythmic beat of his heart, slowly sending me to sleep.

"Just like the good old times, huh Astrid?" He asked.

"Yep, just perfect, like always." I replied.

"Thats my Divine Beauty." He stroked my hair and we both soon drifted to sleep.
