Unhealthy

"I'm done with this" Harry said "I'm done with the lies and the pain and the sadness, I'm done with you. I'm sorry but I am."

Tears threatened to fall from Draco's eyes but he blinked them away, he didn't know If they were happy tears or sad, there was too many emotions flying inside him. Draco understood what Harry was getting at, he and Harry were just too different, they tortured each other and it was time to stop. To end the suffering.

"I understand" Draco whispered, his heart felt like it was shattering but he couldn't say he was surprised, if Harry wasn't doing this then he probably would have. They just didn't work anymore. Not like before.

"I wish this could work Draco, I really do. But it can't, we just don't get along anymore, we can't trust each other, the line is being blurred between hate and love again. I wanted this to work but all we do is lie to each other and hurt each other and I'm done, I'm done with the sleepless nights and the ache in my chest. I don't know how much longer I can stand this and I know you have reached breaking point too. Our relationship is just unhealthy and I want to be better again, I'm sick of being unhealthy" Harry's voice shook, like he was trying to supress rage... or tears. Draco didn't know which one. He used to be able to but that was long ago. Draco didn't know when he stopped being able to read Harry but it had been a while.

"I understand, I really do" Draco said and he meant it, He was thinking the same thing. He was tired of being sick too.

Harry nodded his head slowly. "Even after all that's happened between us I will miss you" Draco could hear the sincerity in his voice and knew that Harry was telling the truth. Draco would miss him as well but they both knew this was the right thing to do.

"And I you" Draco said a sad smile playing on his lips. "I'll see you around Potter" He didn't know why he called him 'potter' but it felt like a good ending, it seemed fair that their ending should be like their beginning.

"See you around Malfoy" Harry gave him one last hug and left the room. Taking all the warmth with him.

Draco felt hollow and lost but also at ease, knowing times would only get better from here. As much as they loved each other they were also the other's own personal poison. Slowly destroying themselves, tearing each other apart. It had to happen eventually, at least that's what Draco told himself. Their relationship was just plain unhealthy and it was time to get better.

Draco soon followed Harry out of the room, feeling heavier and lighter than he had in a long time. Harry was right. He was sick of being unhealthy.
