UPDATE: Charlotte is played by Crystal Reed, AKA Allison Argent

My breath catches at his threat.

"I'll kill you."

I have no doubt that he will follow through on his words if it comes down to it, which I hope it won't.

But the alternative, unfortunately, is Kai leading Liv and Luke's coven. I don't know what that could mean for them, but they'd be far from safe.

Each possible outcome is tossed back and forth in my mind, conflicting me further.

I meet his eyes, cradling my injured arm against my chest as I walk towards him.

"I've had enough of your threats," I whisper. "I'm not afraid of you. I know you won't kill me, you need me if you ever want a chance at leading the Gemini Coven."

Kai's intense blue stare pins me to the spot, his shoulders slowly rising and falling. But he doesn't respond, watching me expectantly.

"So," I tilt my head at him, smiling humorlessly. "You're going to leave Luke and Liv alone, or I'll drive a knife through your gut before you can continue using me for leverage."

The corners of Kai's lips gradually turn up and he replies, "See, that's not going to work. If the coven finds out that I'm back and trying to merge with Jo, they'll merge Luke and Liv asap to avoid the possibility of a sociopathic siphon leading them."

I sigh in frustration. "Then we'll figure out how to keep them from merging. But no matter what, you aren't going to lay a hand on them."

He rolls his eyes, raising his hands up in mock surrender. "Fine, whatever, I won't touch your twinsies. Anyway, let's go. I'm more than ready to get the hell out of 1994."

Kai grips my injured arm, about to pull me along with him when I hiss through my teeth in pain. He pauses, frowning at me and glancing down at my arm.

"What happened?" He questions. If I didn't know better, I'd say he sounded genuinely concerned.

"You kinda broke my arm when you sent me crashing into a tree earlier," I snap, jerking it out of his grip.

He's silent for a moment, before saying, "Give me your arm."

"Why?" I ask him suspiciously. "You've already done enough damage."

Kai exhales through his nose, rolling his eyes. "Charlie, just give me your arm."

I stare at him uncertainly before hesitantly holding my arm out to him. He takes it in both of his own hands, gently to my surprise, and closes his eyes.

"This might sting a little," He murmurs to me, and then begins to speak under his breath, words unfamiliar to me.

I feel an uncomfortable sensation erupt in my arm and flinch, looking down at it. My previously misshapen arm now appears to be molding itself back into the proper places and the sight of the bones moving underneath my skin makes me slightly queasy.

And then the feeling is gone. My eyes flash up to Kai's, which are now open and gauging my reaction.

"What...What did you–"

"I healed your arm with my magic," He interrupts, his thumb tracing across the back of my palm and raising goosebumps in its trail. "Or, rather, Liv's magic."

I let out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding, gulping at the soft touch of his fingers on my skin. Eventually, he lets go and my arm falls to my side, feeling as good as new.
