One Step Closer

Waiting for you

We lay down on the soft, lush green grass and the attractive canopy formed by the purple flowers gifted us with more privacy. Engrossed in the precious moment we kissed. "It's so beautiful " I said to Edward referring to the flowers.

"Not as beautiful as you my love" he replied, stroking my hair gently. But my happiness crashed with a sudden lightening that bellowed in the clear sky.

A spontaneous movement snatched Edward away from me. Tanya's cruelty filled laugh filled the quiet air. I could not see Edward any more. A monstrous face of Tanya's appeared dancing through my head. "Nooooo" I screamed with agony.

"Bella!" A series of anxious voices cried out. I opened my eyes slowly. It was a dream, I realised. I was in the school sanatorium with Alice sitting at my side and Edward was strolling up back and forth the length of the room. "You collapsed.

A result of high blood pressure! I guess." She said glaring at Edward and he glared back at her. "Bella I" Edward spoke but Alice cut him short. "She needs some time! And Bells! Your boyfriend sucks!" Alice's comment made me remember all the horrors that I had witnessed in the library!

"Alice!" Edward scolded and silenced her with a playful smack which was coolly dodged by Alice! "Bella? Can I explain a few things? Please?" His eyes pleaded. He had such a cute expression on his face that actually made me forget all my anger!

"She did it ,Not me!I seriously can't believe she's YOUR TWIN! Yesterday, during the free period I had gone in the library to complete some form work that I had to. Everything was just fine Until I was almost done with my work and was about to meet you when your UNBELIEVABLE twin bolted in suddenly and put off the lights. And as I was about to ask her the reason, she kissed me! I mean that was so spontaneous that Firstly I was in shock! Secondly, when I realised what was going on and stopped her, you entered with Alice and perceived some different story which was poles apart from the reality!

"Bella, I am extremely sorry if you are disappointed with me. I never had anything to do with your twin!" He was really sorry. There was no guilt in his voice which proved that he was telling the truth but there was sadness in his voice that reflected the fear to lose something.

" it's fine, Edward. I believe you. Tanya is very unpredictable , she is always tempted to ruin other's lives." He seemed a bit assured now that I wasn't angry with him. All my dread vanished now as he bent closer and kissed me.

"AHHHM! " Alice's  high pitched voice that seemed  surprisingly unwanted during this precious moment brought us back to our senses . I frowned and was about to reprimand her when I noticed that the matron had entered in! Alice smirked at us and I had to admit that she was a real saviour or we would have been verbally murdered by the matron's lectures! She made me gulp down some horrible medicine that tasted a hundred times bitter than the bitter gourd and thankfully discharged me.

This time, Tanya had crossed ALL the possible boundaries. She just couldn't tolerate that I was happy with my life. And this time I vowed to teach her that! Tanya will surely have to pay for her sins. And this lesson will never be forgotten by her.
