***AaronBruckner as Matt!***
- Where do you know him from? - I asked Lucca when we were walking down the stairs as everyone else in the party. Every guest was to go down a floor were the tables were, to begin the dinner.
- Our parents know each other, we've know each other our whole childhoods, although I'm a few years older. – He replied surprisingly politely. Not actually politely, he just answered, but being Lucca, it was a big deal.
- Why don't you get along then? – I pushed my luck further.
- It's none of your business. – He grunted back and walked faster ahead.
- It is since you suddenly developed an interest in me when he was around me. – I pressed even further.
- Get over the fact that I never was, and am not interested in you. – Lucca spat in my face once he stopped abruptly and turned to face me.
It then hit me. I was only embarrassing myself. Did I really think I had a shot with him? I was only wasting my time. I knew that since the beginning, but somehow managed to daydream about him changing his cold-hearted ways for me.
He turned around and kept on walking, along with the crowd. I just stood there awfully embarrassed, even though nobody had heard or noticed even.
I kept my tears at bay, I wouldn't cry in here. I had to get away as fast as I could, but how? I spotted a bathroom and went straight to it. I locked myself in a cubical and let my humiliation take over my feelings and thoughts, I cried of embarrassment. He was such a f*cking d*ck! It's been a while since I last cried, I think that the last time I wasn't even in the USA, it was before coming here.
When I finally got a grip of my emotions, I waited till the hallway was empty. I listened until the last voices couldn't be heard and got out of the cubical. I fixed my face, cleaning the traces of messed up make up, and fixing it with the few make up in my purse. After fifteen minutes, I got out of the ladies room and started going upstairs. I was planning on leaving by the same route I came from since I didn't know my way around. As I was half way up the stairs, I heard voices coming down them and I froze, they were going to see me if I didn't act fast. I turned around and headed as fast as I could for the bathroom again, but wasn't fast enough.
- Yeah, we'll check on him next week when I fly down ther- Hey, I've got to go, I'll call you. Hey! Ariana! Wait. – He was on the phone I'm guessing and spotted me, it was Matt.
I didn't turn around, but stopped dead in my tracks. What was I going to do? Run faster? No more humiliation, please. I finally turned around.
- Hey, what took you so long to come down? I saw you coming down with the Hardys a long time ago. – He asked putting his phone away.
- I was just leaving, I'm not feeling well. Have a good night though. – I looked up briefly to smile forcedly at him and then went up the stairs as fast as I could.
- Wow, wow, hold on a second. Wait up. – He called after me once I reached the top of the penthouse; he grabbed my arm so I couldn't walk any further.
- Look, this was a shitty night; I just want to go home. It was nice meeting you and all that stuff, but I'm leaving. – I stated with finality, the tears weren't holding in for much longer.
- Was it Lucca? What did he say to you? – He pressed, still holding my arm.
- Nothing, let go. – I insisted, my patience running out.
- Look, I won't let you leave like this. You are about to cry, why don't we sit and talk about it? Then I'll take you home. – He finally convinced me with the taking me home deal.
